I like the no post concept, seems as if it would make it easier to build on. My biggest issue is lining up wire ends into tiny holes with aging eyes.

Do you think a week is longevity for a coil?
My question was actually why capture one wire with a hex bolt and not another? No need to get touchy about it, you're one of the best coil builders there are and experiments are good.
I am not the best coil builder and i'm asking a simple question about the reliability of a connection like that is all.
And if it's crap - i won't buy it!

I had thought about a lateral set screw for the pos. as well; but one run's into issues of + and - intersecting. I even thought about a delrin (or hard plastic) screw running through the deck and passing through a large open hole in the centerpost; however, it got a bit too complicated.I don't understand why a coil with a few weeks under it's belt would act any different, tho.
As a geologist I have to say I'm drooling over those glacial smoothed rocks....

This came out sometimes reading 0.10, but mostly reading 0.00Ω. I didn't vape it. Here's how I'm prepping the center leg, tho.

Did you at least fire it? I fired my titanium coil!
(On an unfused tube-steak that I normally never use and don't care if I have to throw in a bucket of water if something untoward were to happen).

How about the positive hole being grooved or threaded inside? Bend one leg of the coil into a v shape wider than the hole. Push the point of the v into the hole and it kinda snaps into the grooves holding it in. Could still be pulled out easily to change coils.

So far I like where it's going, it's just different and wrapping ones mind around it is the key, the strength and sturdy are because the neg side is locked in, a wire that's been could and fired doesn't generally just up and bend on its own so it should stay in place and with the bends in the legs your creating multiple contact points on the positive. The coil possibilities are intriguing, but the airflow and vape quality is what I'm excited about, so your showing coils, and builds but you vape unflavored right right? So are you going to finally break out that poo you've been saving for a rainy day and give us a proper how do you do about the flavor?

Yeah, I'm not ready to say much about that yet. Reason why, is I've been vaping one set-up for a long time. No adjustments, no changes, nothin'. So, I'm actually kind'a overwhelmed by all the possibilities; changing from a tight ciggie-like vape to a wide open lung hit. Pulling the cap up a couple mm and getting a much mellower, larger chamber vape or letting it bottom out and getting some serious intensity. Duals, singles, triples. I'm lost in a sea of possibility. Flavor and vape quality are different from my all day every day vape (.45Ω MM in an RM2 w/ 1.4mm air). Just too much information/stimulation to process this fast.

Oh, and I don't just vape unflavored. My kin'a ADV (or at least my old reliable) is MisterELiquid's Lemonade (cut in half w/ unflavored cause the MM intensifies the flavor so much). Buuuuuuut .. . I let myself run out.

And with the duals and the lung hitting and all that, I haven't been able to use my ready mixed stuff (like the poo), cause even I can't be lung hitting 32mg. Soooooo, I've been concocting tester juices (around 9mg) out of whatever I've got around, or my wife's 18mg + straight VG.

You know you can pick up straight VG from cvs or walgreens to help cut your 36mg juice, it will help you in a pinch. That being said we want you comfortable and with your normal setup (good thing MisterE ships fast!).
I might have to try his lemonade, i only use napalm from MisterE, one of my favs but I can only use it in a pro tank, it kills rm2 and reo internals, everything for months tastes like red hots.

I did a rough sketch of my idea for the center post. the square block would be easy enough, the square hole in the atty base would be the whole challenge to this design, depending on the minimum diameter mill it would have rounded corners, still could work

Does that design have 3 negative terminals and 1 positive? I'm not sure if I understood the drawing correctly. I'm not sure how you could use them all as surely the coils would cross? A single or dual might be easy to do, but it might be trickier for a triple or quad?
I have my reservations with a screwless center post too pdib. I tend to keep my coils in service for months, and I do find they shift position with all the heating and cooling cycles. A screwless centerpost might work better if you change coils often.
my thoughts were to use either the one opposite one or the 2 side ones, was thinking more of either single or dual, not so much quads
that center block could also be altered slightly and be made to retain the wire right in the center too, in that case could make 4 neg holes around the block instead
