Kat, no worries, if you feel yours has an issue, send it back to Imeo, he will open it and check it for you right on video for you to see, if an issue he will correct it

I know, but I'm a patient man, and I'm stubborn, so I'll try to fix it first, assuming it's something I'm doing wrong. 90% of all issues turn out to be user error, so I continue assuming this until I really run out of ideas and suggestions.

I stand by my theory. The ac tip does not absorb heat at all that's why the heat is staying inside the mouthpiece.

I agree with you, aal, the question I am trying to answer is why heat is only generated in the upper mouthpiece only when the AC tip is attached, not when it has no tip and not when it has a third-party tip attached.

I have to admit, it's a pretty cool problem. It has me stumped, and not much has stumped me engineering-wise in my brief vaping career.

I don't vape hot enough for my mouthpiece AC tip to heat up much, but it's easy to see why it might heat up more ... the AC tip actually screws into the mouthpiece at its narrowest point, just above the coils; here, you have direct metal-to-metal contact with what I would think would be the hottest part of the mouthpiece, so the heat is transferred very efficiently through the metal-to-metal contact. On the other hand, if you use a 3rd party drip tip (or if you unscrew the AC tip far enough that it is completely clear of the internal threads), the tip is insulated from the metal of the mouthpiece by the o-rings, and so is much cooler. Even if you vape directly from the mouthpiece without the AC tip in at all, the heat is dissipated by the upper part of the mouthpiece. This is what I seem to observe on my Penny v2s ...

Heat is generated in the Upper part of the mouthpiece only when
AC tip is attached becouse of the same reason kata:
The humidity trap!
The hot vapor counsatrate itself on the upper part of the mouthpiece,
and that's happen only when AC tip is in place,
And you perform continuously chain vaping.
The AC tip is thick enogh so it's not affect it as the mouthpiece.

That's becouse mouthpiece act as heat exchanger!
The mouthpiece is thiner and heated first, as the AC tip is thicker.
Becouse AC tip is insulated from mouthpiece with O rings the heat generated
In the mouthpiece transfer itself out from the upper side of the mouthpiece
That are above tank level, befor it can affectively warm the AC tip ;)

Yes, but the AC tip itself stays cool, only the mouthpiece gets hot when the AC tip is attached....

But then this should happen in every Penny v2, but almost nobody else has experienced this. I can assure you, anybody would be bothered by the level of heat building up on my mouthpiece.

Using my Chains of Olympus doesn't heat up my mouthpiece as much and thats at .4-.5 ohms.

Maybe you have warp touching mouth piece?

That's why I'm thinking I might try a generic coil instead of microcoil, to rule out the possibility that somehow the coil is touching the mouthpiece wall.

Hey I'll meet up regardless, but anything below around 1.2 ohms, and I become a little girl in a pink dress, crying for my mommy!

It's not correct kata, the reason not many post on that is becouse
I maybe wrong but I think most moved to DT from the early days.
it's just feel better to some,so the expirience is somthing they do not longer have.
I moved to DT becose for my Self I prefer more humid bland of vapor and air,and
That I could not get with the AC tip.

I agree with itshak. It is what I believe but he gave better explanation with the thinness of the mouthpiece. The reason nobody has reported it doesn't mean anything. For me I haven't used the AC tip more than 5 mins.

Crap crap crap. I absolutely must have the AC tip, I like a tight draw, and without it, it really is all about lung hitters.

I can always trade it to a lung hitter for another Ithaka. I knew there must be some reason fate had me order an extra Ithaka SS window by accident. :)

BTW it should be simple to figure out then. Can you guys take a minute and try vaping with the AC tip again? I get blazing heat after 4-5 draws. Keep your lips touching the top of the mouthpiece. If it gets uncomfortable for you, then I know it isn't a fluke, but standard behavior for the Penny v2.
