It's a tough call.

Honestly, I've never had much hope for the petition to actually be successful, by itself, to remove vapor products from the TCA.

The purpose of all this was to get the message out, and it has done that, but not as much as I hoped. It doesn't help that the advocacy groups refuse to see the merit in the petition as a tool. I know I've been lax in putting out updates, I get discouraged too, and I don't want to always share bad news, and good news is hard to come by.

It's my name on the petition, but it's never been just mine. So, if you all still see merit in keeping it going, I'll be right here with you. If we decide it's run its course, I'm honored that all of you have stuck with it this long.

Right now the powers that be are trying to pass a bill that would basically treat vaping the same as smoking. I have let them know how I feel about it but I fear that it has fallen on deaf ears. I think that is why I am so discouraged today.

In the end the FDA is winning by giving the states more ammo to kill vaping as we have come to both know and love it. :( Arkansas used to be 20 years behind most other states but that isn't the case this time. :grr:

I have been proud to stand with you and everyone else that has kept this very important petition out there for all to see. Thank you for getting it going.

We are losing right now, on most fronts. I'm prepared to fight for vaping for as long as I have to. It's taken the "other stuff" about 50 years to make it to where it is now, and that fight isn't over. If it takes 50 years for the truth about vaping to become widely known, I think I've got 50 years left in me, thanks in no small part to vaping. I hope it doesn't take that long.

Likewise, although another 50 years will probably leave me out.... ;)

Unless vaping proves to be the fountain of youth folks have been dreaming about for forever I don't think I will be here for another 50 years but hopefully others will pick up the ball and run with it for those of us that started it.

I truly do believe that this one product has the potential to put an end to combustible tobacco use if it is left alone and allowed to grow. I believe that those that pick up vaping instead of smoking will be able to quit vaping much easier than it is for smokers to quit smoking. Maybe I am wearing rose colored glasses but I do have hope.

60,330 still :(

I am beginning to think it is time to throw in the towel, turn off the lights and admit that the party is over. Had this been a petition to acknowledge some teenage star with a new boyfriend/girlfriend it would have gone viral and would have had at least half a million supporters within the first couple of weeks.

We have fought the good fight for almost 2 years and hopefully we have put a bug in the ear of a few folks that can do something about this if they choose to try. I feel sure that the mods have been lenient with us and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for doing so.

What say all of y'all? Shall we stop bumping the thread?

No, with all due respect, I won't do it. I don't know any vapers, don't live near a vape shop and don't have a car to get to one, my representatives only play lip service (nor do I agree with almost anything they spew), I'm not on social media and this is almost the only place I can do anything. Let's face it, the count inches upwards, goes backwards after 24 hours, and sometimes surges upwards, mostly due to Steve. Go Steve!

I don't have 50 years left but don't want to give up on those that do. Okay, sometimes I do but somebody else didn't (NJOY) and I was able to quit smoking by vaping because they did. I want somebody else to have that chance too. So we bounce back and forth, I wouldn't want to do it with anybody else.

We've lost a lot of people along the way that have been a tremendous help, for which I'm sure we're all eternally grateful. I am anyway. I say we carry on through thick and thin as a permanent thorn in their, naysayers and the FDA, sides. :sneaky: Granted, I'd really love to be a butcher knife in their sides. :grr:

You have such a way with words and I love it :D Onward we shall go as a permanent thorn in their side and maybe throw in some chewing gum stuck to the bottom of their favorite shoe stuck like glue to remind them that we are not going to go down quietly. Thank you FT

I go 800 miles north and still can't get a decent internet connection, though last night I think it was a computer glitch. :( Today my parents' entire senior citizen complex had their internet go down. I know it's wrong to get a warm fuzzy feeling that over 1,000 people are POed over their internet but I did anyway, so nice to not be alone in getting frustrated for once.

Anyway, thank you to you and everyone for hanging in there with us/me. We may not change anything grand scheme of things but have certainly made our little corner of the world more aware. Even if all we do is make people aware and get some to stock up, it's worth it. Very worth it. Maybe it will get some motivated to switch to vaping before all their options are taken away or taxed into oblivion. Heck (hell), an old workhorse, ProVape, is already gone for them due to deeming.

Sorry for rambling, I'm feeling sort of desperate and frustrated for smokers with the looming taxes for Californians going into effect in about three weeks and no one apparently knowing how bad it will be for vapers.

I also fear for the mentally ill who get relief from smoking in CA who will now have to pay $2.00 a pack more for cigarettes to "save the children." Right, they can afford that, but the state can make a buck off of that so who cares how much some random person suffers?

Bad typo above and the computer isn't letting me fix it. Going to bed, hope I can I fix it by edit it but if not, humble apologies.
