I saw a piece about those octopi. They live near a tourist destination, if I remember correctly, where they make a lot of drinks out of coconuts they cut in half. When they're done with the coconut shells they toss them in the ocean. The octopuses not have many natural hiding spots around there to escape from predictors and figured out that they can carry around the two halves and when needed, jump in one and clamp the other over the top for protection.
