I'm around, I'm

That's actually not how this would have worked. Congress wouldn't be able to overturn a rule that had not been published. The white house has already seen and accepted the rule, that's what the OMB/OIRA review was.

The long shot of this petition would be that it inspires someone in congress to draft something to overturn this.

The more likely, though still long shot, would be that it inspires them to support something like HR 2058, which would at least buy us time.

The true benefit of this petition is letting people know what's going on, and keeping them updated on what else they can do.
Apparently the OMB failed or was bought off. I lean toward bought off.

Anyway, the regs were just registered yesterday and will be published in the registry on the 10th if I read everything right. So maybe give one last push for sigs till then then send it?

Yup, that's the general plan. It's not even officially in the registry yet, and hopefully there's some momentum in the vape world. I've been getting emails all day that people are signing.

Stumbled across this in a news article yesterday and it did reduce my hyperventilating. Even made me smile for a moment.

I am at a loss for words at this point.
Me too, but I have seen what you've been doing and it's awesome!
Thank you for signing, humble apologies for having lost the pompom cheering squad.
We're late the ruling has been done and nothing changed. Date is still 2007 all ecigs are screwed

New petition here. Overturn the FDA's ruling on ecigarette classification as a tobacco product. | We the People: Your Voice in Our Government

Details here. https://s3.amazonaws.com/public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2016-10685.pdf

Y'all been so busy searching and posting pics and every single new signer update that the day to send it blew by. Send it now Les and hope it gets read. I fear it's too late for this petition.
Les has explained so I won't bother but I do feel your frustration. What I want to say is thank you for starting this thread, it's been a great run, just wish more had bothered to sign.
How about when we hit 55,000!! :D ;)
[Edit, forgot the reply on the original post] You're our most successful streaker, get out there now and haul ...., woman. :sneaky:

Thank you sweetie. I did like seeing the numbers go up.

Me too :( It is amazing how a new petition trying to do what we have been trying to do for almost a year gets posted and gets over 50,000 signatures in just a couple of days. I think the bad news has motivated more and more folks to get active and that is a good thing.

I've seen people logging in and weighing in that I haven't seen in years. What amazes me is how many people are NOW thinking of stocking up. Many aren't noobs either.

I can answer as to Why I didn't. I was hoping that the FDA would see reason. I was hoping that the good stuff coming out in favor of vaping would be a positive influence on the FDA. I really thought that the UK's stance would positively influence the FDA. I was wrong.

I am now starting my stocking up in earnest. I had one liter from about six months ago. Still was not that worried.

I am now.

I'm definitely not a noob. *sigh*

I remember when you got it. But you were not one of those that were saying nothing much was going to happen. You have been asking questions and have had it on your mind for a while now.
True. I have had it on my mind and kind of had a plan for if this indeed did happen...which it is. So I guess I am now executing what my mind has been working on...subconsciously.

I guess I have been thinking about it all along. Dec 2014 I placed a fresh unopened bottle of my fav liquid in the freezer. Around Christmas 2015 I finally pulled it out. This was just a test of how the liquid would fare after being in there for that long. The results were that it was like getting a fresh bottle from my vendor.

I am now planning on getting a couple of extra bottles each time I order. Those will go right into the freezer when I get them. I finally tried unflavored. I like it. If worse comes to worse, I can vape that. If I get used to unflavored, adding a few drops of my favorite will flavor the unflavored... Did that make sense?

So, yeah, I guess I have been working on things.

I've been a doom and gloomer from the beginning, and even I'm not prepared. Not because I didn't think it would happen though, just because I haven't been able to prepare more.

I'm glad some people are starting to wake up. The new we the people petition is getting a lot of signatures, but it seems a little misguided, the White House already ok'd the regs. I'm hoping those signing anything right now stick around and get involved in more advocacy. It's going to be a long haul, and I'm assuming things will get rough for awhile, long before they get better. It's going to take those of us who were around during the "golden age" to keep things going until congress wakes up and changes things. I'm hoping things move faster than they have for "other stuff" though.

You did the most important thing Robin. You stayed on top of what was coming and took action when it became clear that it was necessary. You might be surprised at just how good your favorite e-liquid can be after dilution. One 100ml bottle can conceivably be made into 400mls. The only flavor hubby will vape is Sahara from Apollo but only after I dilute it down to 3mls of the premade stuff to 27mls of unflavored. One 30 ml bottle of purchased ends up 300mls ready to vape. He is an extreme case of just wanting a hint of flavor though.

Made sense. I'm impressed since you've been on here all day long. Glad your juice will store in the freezer too. So glad I DIY, I'd be panicked, and dead broke, if I had to stock up on store bought juice at this point.

You and me both FT. 'specially if I was having to buy the Vanilla Custard that has been my favorite for well over a year :D
I know I have everything I need to get me through the rest of my life but am still tempted to buy more :lol:
