All day long... and can't get even one coil to work right... I'm done.

A $200 or so show piece now.

I've walked away from it three times today... With my temper it's a wonder that it's still useable and in one piece.

I'll just accept the fact that i can not make a coil and so rba are just not for me.

(I also have a genesis maxi that i could never get to work right... been in a drawer for about a year now.)

Phrosty looks great Moo. Thanks.

Chris had a very hard time starting out as well. His wire kept breaking each time he pushed the button on the provari. I understand if you are frustrated and want to give up, but I promise you if you are patient you will get it! He isn't here now, but I will ask him some of the things he tried that worked well. I know he found this video helpful (at least I hope it was this video)

If all else fails, we do have a 30 day return policy! We don't want you to be stuck with a product you don't like. We can't take the tank back as it is a VERY custom choice, bu"Problem Child" that wants it!

It's not pretty, but I've got a coil working at 2.3 Ohms.

I'm having problems with a very burnt taste. I don't see any hot spots when I apply voltage, in fact the coils aren't turning red anywhere. I did seem to have something (juice?) contacting both the wick and center post. I pulled the wick away from the center post a bit with a pick. Any ideas?

When Chris finally got it to work ours was burnt tasting and very harsh. I was told that it gets better after a day or so. I was also told that it is better with higher ratios or all VG! We use 70pg/30vg so that could be part of the issue. Also look at the video I posted above (and again I hope it is the right one)

HA. That what I use sometimes. But I hook the looped end on a nail or something and use a drill to twist a few feet at a time. I end up about 1ohm. Certain juices anyway.

I'll try it on the cobra once I'm able to get to the post office. They claim a notice was left for me to pick up the package, but no notice was left. In fact, he was nowhere near our street. My guess is they were pulled off the street due to weather and all packages just sent off to PO for pickup.

So have you made it to the PO???

I called. Ok. Just so you know, I have two post offices that handle our mail. Our town is where our packages are held if we aren't home. Next town has the drivers. Neither knows where the package is. Each is hoping its on the truck for redelivery for today. As of now, it's MIA.
But on the flip side, we lucked out. And it's devastating seeing what NJ and NY went through. So I will see when it gets delivered. I'll post if its in the mailbox later. Of course, if its there, ill be taking it out for a spin. :)

Kwalka. How in HELL did you vape that at .8ohms? I've done a .8 on some others but....this? Holy hell!
This vapes different. I knew air hole would be smaller but didn't realize that the wick hole was this small. I put 7 or 8 wraps around this with a 28 and damn near blew the back of my throat out! Flavor is amazing. Vapor is great. But my throat will never be the same.
So for now, I put 32g on, shortened the wraps and now have a 1.4. Flavor and vapor still great, and throat is thanking me.

I understand about the tank and I wouldn't return it anyways. Yours and Chris work is always a work of art. I won't return the cobra either, I'm not upset with the atty, I'm not upset about the cost (if i didn't want to pay it i wouldn't have) I'm upset at my self. I know its user error and the fact that I can't fix it is what bothers me.

As always, thanks for taking care of us Moo

nvmedjpain,

I've never done an RBA before and can't be certain that it will work for me. I'm making my way through the monster #500 SS Mesh thread. I can't speak to results, but there are a lot of folks that posted there saying the information really made their RBA's perform. Just an idea, but it's a ton of reading for sure.

nv. Try rolling it in a medium size paper clip. Fold the out edge that it will end with in to keep the edge frays to a minimum. Sometimes thats where problems start. A loose "hair" making contact. But then once you dry fit your take the wick out, do your coils, then grab needle nose plyers and hold the two ends close to the wick to hold the wires in place. While holding, torch to make the wires glow for a few seconds. Their shape should stay and keep everything snug while connection.
This also helps with spacing while wrapping. If your tried all that, I'm sorry. If not, maybe there's one good tip to add to your routine.

Foggy that thread will make your head truly spin. Great tips and ideas but can be an overload. :)
I still use my original wick making method but changed from an Allen key to start to a paper clip. This cobra hole is small.

a genesis atty is worth the frustration and the learning curve because once you get the coil right it's the best vape you can get (IMO) and after you get coiling mastered making a new coil only takes a few seconds. My only complaint about them is they don't travel well because they are leaky, my only complaint about the cobra is that the air and wick hole are so small. and i think they are kind of pricey

I am one that agrees with you on ALL fronts. I've done two wicks and two coils on the cobra. Finding te right combination will be a challenge. The wick hole reminds me of the line. I opened the box, took the cap off, and said "what the ?"
