I had a few people asking me this...thought I made it clear in the video but for thoes that didn't catch it: The flavor, throat hit and vapor production all depend on how well you build your coil or coils. The trick is not to wind the wire tight around the wick. The looser it is the better it's going to taste and the longer it will last before having to get the build-up off by cleaning/dry-burn or replace. Another trick is to put your coil kinda sideways so that you have minimal bare wire leading from the wick to the posts. Too much excess wire leading from the wick to the posts will cause hot throat hits and you will pop your coil easily.

Another thing I should mention is if you get a flat head screwdriver or something similar after you have built your wick/coil and installed it put it under the wick and force it up a little....this will give the drip well the ability to hold more juice before it covers the wick.

Also, resistance depends on A: the gauge of resistance wire you use and B: the number of times you wrap it around the coil. The more wraps you have the higher the ohms will be...the less wraps you have the less your ohms will be. 32-34 gauge kanthal resistance wire is what I would recommend for the Phoenix RA. The thicker the gauge the more resistance you will get. Also 325 stainless steel mesh will work...the bigger around you make it can vary resistance as well. If you decide to use SS mesh you will have to put it vertical in the center so it wicks the just upwards to the coil.

Hope this helped...happy vaping!

Great review :) Thanks. Out of a scale of 1-10 what do you rate the ease of use?

Np...thank you :). With 1 being easiest and 10 being hardest I would say it's about a 3. Even though it's small, it's super easy to make a coil and simply screw it down to the posts. All you need is a little eyeglass screwdriver, wick and wire and you're in business. It's also super easy to wash out to do a dry burn and get your coil back to new....no waiting for it to dry like a normal atty.

Update: Just put in 2 silica wicks/coils on the sides and one SS mesh wick/coil in the middle for a tripple coil setup running at 2.0 ohms total. Put it at 6 volts on my VMax and it hits/tastes so good I've never tasted or felt anything like this before... it's mind blowing. Video coming soon so subscribe and stay tuned.

I believe if you unscrew the phoenix, take a screwdriver and push down in the middle of the cup this will push down the contact pin? I believe I just saw a vid on youtube about that.

You can do that but I just tried rocking the center pin back and forth from the bottom and it came back out really easily.

For thoes of you that want to use the Phoenix with bottom feeders you can take the center pin out of the Phoenix and replace it with a center pin from a atty that has a hole in it and use it with your bottom feeder or auto batt. I only recommend doing this if you have experience taking atomizers apart and if you do this you will no longer be able to flood the atty because it will leak bad.

I just took mine apart and I noticed that even if I replace the bottom post with a post that has a hole in it, the liquid still wouldn't be able to get through to where the wick is. Above the center post is the big part inside the atomizer and it is sealed. I did notice though, that if I use the smallest drill bit I have, I could "punch through" so that the liquid would have a path all the way up to the wick.

Ah yeah, I forgot about the silicone bottom piece...as you said though you can just drill a hole in it...should work fine.

Can't wait, man. I just ordered some test rebuilding stuff to play with before I make an investment in it. Should prove to be very interesting. I have visions of of a dual vertical mesh coil setup dancing in my head. :2cool:
