The coil heated up perfectly evenly when dry, but now that the coil is wet, only the ends glow.
What are you using for a wick?
You don't want the coil to glow at all while you're vaping. A glowing coil means it is not wicking properly.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, every coil I make tastes burnt. The first one was too close to the insulator of one of the posts and it was starting to melt a little, so I get that. But this one is really good I think, and still does not taste good. What do you do with the newly built wick/wire, just vape? Burn it? I thought for sure this one would be good, idk whats goin on!

I did have some extra wire between the post and wick, i wanted to make sure the coil wouldnt touch the post, that was the reason for the extra. I am making another now, I'll try to get it as close as possible to the wick. The coil isn't wrapped tight, but it is very close to the wick, it needs to be doesn't it?
TRY HARBOR FREIGHT http://www.harborfreight.comLove the atomizer. Flavor is great. I didn't realize how small the internals were (Looks larger on video). Maybe this may help those people like me that may have a hard time seeing this tiny device. Picked it up at Radio Shack for $16 (And some change).

Too tightly wound possibly? That will stop liquid from wicking properly.I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, every coil I make tastes burnt. Ok this is annoying now. If you wrap the coil loose, the wire glows when you vape, and tastes burnt. If you wrap it tight, it won't wick fast enough, but the coil still glows. I've made 8 wire/wicks so far, and they all will glow on some portion of the wire when I juice it up. Maybe someone can explain to me what I'm missing here. I am a very hands-on person, I make and build things all the time, so this is killin me that I can't get it to work.
I might have had it at too high of a voltage, thought it was at 3.7 but it was about 4v. I have been taking the piece of wick and laying it along a needle. This gives me something stiff to wrap the coil around, then pull the pin out. I am not wrapping really tight, but it is a pretty secure wrap. Do you mean loose as in space between the inside of the coil and the start of the wick? Or like still touching the wick all the way but just barely?
Thanks, and sorry for all the questions! I appreciate everyone helping out, I really want to get this working, and then setup a dual-coil hahaha

Well my HH.357 stopped firing, so now I NEED an atty, so I have to get a good coil going lol. It seemed like the one I wrapped loose would glow when the wick was wet, if I wrap it kind of tight like the one I currently have in there, the coil doesn't look to be glowing but still has a bad taste. Maybe I had the wick already burned and thats what I'm tasting.
