Nice. If you mean mesh, be sure to anneal like 3-4 times the wick you want to use and then soak it with any juice and let it burn with a lighter 2-3 times. That should insulate it enough so it doesn't short out against the coils. Another method, thanks to igetcha69, and others, is to wrap the wick with some cigarette paper when wrapping the coil. Feed the lower end of RW into the neg terminal, then wrap the top pos side around the other post screw (not the wire hole). Tighten down and then test it with ProVari. If it passes, cool, if it shows L0, then use a sharp instrument to separate the coils more. Trim down the wick about 1/8 inch above the top screws on the posts. Pull up on the wick just slightly so it isn't touching the bowl. Hope that helps.

Ok I am going to try and make one now with the new wick.

I made one just like Rondasherril except I used 32awg Kanthal 6 wraps, same cotton yarn from walmart and did it the same way by wrapping it around a small screwdriver. I got 2ohms and it vapes like a train and great flavor , much better than the silca wick. Thanks Rondasherril:)

You're welcome! If you are feeling adventurous, put a vertical ss mesh wick on it, and fill the reservoir about 2/3rds...

Which yarn at walmart? I'd love to give it a go..

A little off topic I rebuilt a nova head today for the hell of it heh, 2.3 ohms. Would be cool to try cotton in it as well.

If I can do cotton, next step is the SS mesh.

Ok, well, not sure what you all have experienced with the Phoenix knock-off offerings from MOV, but I'm not the least bit impressed. 0 for 2 here with what I have received. Very shoddy workmanship. What a shame. Anyone else seeing this? I don't mean to single out MOV, but these devices are different from what I got from VB.

Well, I think I was a little hasty diagnosing one as seeping from the battery connector, but I'm doing some further testing with a thicker o-ring on that one. The other one has an issue with the longer negative post that was so loose I couldn't loosen the screw to remove the stock coil, it has two sets of coil wire holes, and the threaded tip is bent a little to one side. I'm working with MOV right now to see if a replacement is deem-able. These are pretty close to the one I got from VB but the posts seem a bit shorter to me. Also the screws don't thread all the way into the posts like the other model I have. That's not really a big deal but it would be nice if needed. I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

TBinAZ I have two from MOV and mine are great, nice machining , smooth threads....what's up with yours?

Keep an eye on seepage as the cap air hole needs to be aligned with the coil on these things. If you notice seepage after adjusting and letting it sit, grab a drip tip o-ring and replace the stock one. That seemed to bring the thickness back to what the model I got from VB is like in relation to the threads. It appears to me that this model is using a slightly thinner o-ring, or the channel is machined deeper.

Hope you get taken care of, I had none of those issues with mine.

Yeah they are knockoffs of the original Phoenix. My knockoffs arn't that bad but you can deff tell the diff between the real deal and the knockoff.
