Qorax, sir, are you having any issues getting your feeder wicks out without them breaking off during a rewick? Your new wicking idea looks like it would help with that :)

Have you tried mesh feeder wicks? This may be silly, but I was thinking of building it like a genny with mesh wicks and two vertical coils, one over each hole. I also thought having my coils closer to the airholes might be a good idea, but admit the Urba has excellent flavor even with one centered, horizontal coil.

I haven't made any changes yet while I wait for my new 510 base, but am keen to experiment. I will probably put on my PMMA tank as well at that time, but if I do, I'll need to change juice as I have a known tank cracker in mine.

Roxy Ma'am,
(1) I haven't had any such issues so far ~ but then I use Rayon, which is tightly rolled, thus might not be easily disintegrated.
(2) No, I haven't - but it indeed crossed my mind :) and it is perfectly plausible.
(3) Dual verticals, with mesh, might be a problem. B'coz the airhole (x1) is in the center of the atty.

I was thinking of the two side airholes on the top of the tank. For some reason I'm not remembering there being one under the coil, but too many new attys lately and not as familiar with them all as I should be.

I use rayon as well, but I guess I need to be gentler pulling it up.

Ah, those side airholes on the topcap merge into one single airhole (a pretty large one at that) in the center, right under the coil.

I get dry hits after 3-4 hits using qorax's method... I don't get it...

So did I on my first wick. I think I didn't have my fill hole open (wick close or covering it), which prevented air from entering the tank quickly enough to replace juice that was vaped. Try checking that first.

I don't get it either. I am into my third tank since that video - and having a flawless vape.

My fill port is always kept closed (by rotating the deck ring). The feeder wicks are thin tho - so there's enough breathing space around the two vertical wick holes.

I did both open and close.

The wicks are loose in the ports and the coil wick is as usual.

My wicking may not have been optimal though. I wouldn't get a harsh hit until the 6th or 7th pull. It was the only thing I could think off.

Btw, I am firing a 0.8 Ohms coil with 15W. I have gone till 20W without any feeding issues - but I don't like such higher wattages, they diminish the flavor profile of my juices. So, at 15-16W things are faring perfectly. What ohms and watt you are firing yours?

1.3 ohm and 14.5W. It only happened with my first wick though. I probably made a mess of it being a long wick, and not being used to that :). Its been good since then. I've rewicked 3 or 4 times now.

I fired my new quad vertical build in another atty at 100W last week just to try it, lol! Not my style of vaping (yet anyway), but it kept up.

OMG, 100W? Great and Congrats! I can never think of doing that feat :)
