It's not really a matter of "shouldn't." Nothing bad or dangerous happens if you do (on a regulated). But most don't. I started mtl'ing around 1.5 ohms. But over time, I've played with a lot of different builds on my doggies, and find that my sweet spot is 0.58 ohms on 316L SS 28ga, 7 wraps 2.0mm ID, at 8.5W, which usually hits 420-430F. I think the smaller coil allows more of it to be directly hit with the airflow intake, resulting in a more solid, flavorful vape.Isn't that resistance kinda low... I've heard you shouldn't really go lower than .7ohms for mtl, but I'm not sure...just what I've read on here.
Yes it is...but no it isn't. Anything below 1.0 ohm is technically subohming, but many MTL'rs will build a .7 thru.9ish SS/K1 build without thought. Usually adding more WRAPS and a 28g wire. It really is the power sent to the coil. I keep the WRAPS about 5 to 6 so as not to scorch the center cotton. I want a warm vape and N80 is fast firing. At 16.5 watts it is warm but not to hot for the air and chamber. Wicking is not an issue and keeps up well. It's a great setup. But don't go above 17.5w...then it becomes a problem.
Rockford...I like my SS coils MTLing, but for me once in awhile N80 changes my vape just enough. My SS gives me a sharp crisper flavor, but for a medium rounded flavor I like N80. On my squonkers I like a good duel stage coil with a single core of N80 wrapped between the clapton coils. Thats my all time favorite, but that on an Enthion or something else not an MTL.
How is that Cannolio fkavcir? Been looking for a good one for a while![]()
Raff Mods Ranger OKR-T/10 box with the OFRF Gear RTA in bubble mode and some very decent french toast.
Their french toast has been a favorite of mine from their line. I've probably vaped 5-600mls of it in the past year. It's a sweet, not too eggy vanilla custard with a hint of cinnamon. I like their pebbled flavor as well. There is a sort of light cannoli filling flavor in the base of the ones I've tried. They have a glazed donut that's pretty popular, but it's nowhere near as good as Loaded Glazed, one of my all time favorites. I'd recommend the french toast, though. How is that Cannolio fkavcir?
