Back up a sec... brass Gear?!?!?

I haven’t seen one of those, you must have customized that.

And I was hoping someone would chime in and tell me if the authentic had a good switch, or was similar to the clone. Thanks for the links!
The button on my authentic Roundhouse is the SAME as the one on my clone Vindicator and they’re BOTH smooth operators.

Another forum...I can’t be specific ha ha. Have you taken the button apart and cleaned it?

I have, no change. Spring looks fine. I think it’s just not machined right. It doesn’t push up straight and those little lobes get caught. Bad enough when they stick and it won’t fire, but they could stick when it’s firing too. Oh well. I did just order the authentic. And maybe I can find a replacement switch for this one.

The brass toned GEAR is actually what they call "gold", but as you can see, it's more of a brass tone. Love it!

One thing about clones is many of the most popular mods are cloned by more than one company. If they're authorized clones, then the listing will likely state the manufacturer. Infinite, SXK and Tesla are among the better cloners. I don't know about Tobeco, but some of their clones were excellent. hcigar is, unfortunately, out of the mech business. Some of their clones were as good or better than the authentics.

My Vindicator clone is the generic clone that they still have at fasttech. Stacks up pretty well against the authentic, except for the fire button.

So Kennedy allows other companies to make Vindicators?

I don't think so. I've never seen a branded clone Vindicator. But some companies, like Avid Lyfe, have actually set up or contracted with Chinese manufacturers to make clones for them. There's a lot more money in $20-$50 clones than in $300-$1000 designer mods.

Then there's the whole thing of US manufacturers (like ThunderHead Creations) and designers (like Stan at Tenacious TX Vapes) that simply have Chinese companies make their products for them. Look for much more of that coming.

Oh, you said authorized clone so I thought authorized by Kennedy. Who are they authorized by then?

I didn't say that there were any authorized Kennedy clones. Any Kennedy clones are unauthorized, and Kennedy isn't getting any money. But some manufacturers do have cloning agreements. Prominently Purge, Vicious Ant, Comp Lyfe, Avid Lyfe and Broadside.

You said “if they’re authorized clones”. Perhaps I’m misunderstanding.

Here's a cool example of authorized cloning. The atomizer is an authentic Vicious Ant--clone--of the legendary Kraken RDTA. Excellent RDTA, have no idea of how it stacks up to the original. But it's a great RDTA in its own right.

The mod is a clone of the Vicious Ant Phenom. It's an authorized clone by Tobeco. Excellent mod--the threads are as smooth as the threads on my VA Silverback. The 1/4 turn locking fire button is extremely smooth. Oddly, the finish is one that VA never offered. Their brass/steel fusion is the most popular finish for the Phenom, but they never did copper/steel. They should have. It rocks!

The switch on the authentic Vindicator is flawless. Everything about it is butter.

Where did you get your clone?
If you're considering buying multiple clones, why not just get a real one? They're only around $130 and you would be supporting a talented machinist and a genuinely good guy.

Oops, just saw that you ordered one. Good for you :D

On topic...

My profile unity mesh on the genie, that's one ugly tank, only needs an led to light up the afc holes and I've got a little flying saucer, hahaView attachment 848587
First time i am seeing a unity with a bubble glass, will rather stick with the extended 5ml glass tho
