Just wanted to give a slight follow up. Sundays are 12 hour shifts for me, alot of it spent driving in the truck in dc. This is where some of my heaviest vaping takes place. Today used only the omg with a DVCT at 1.5 ohms. Went through 36ml's of juice, and four battery changes, with the exception of a few of the 7 flash timeouts, nothing major to report. Did take a 10 minute break after each one of those incidents. Going to stress it as much as possible over the next week to see what happens. Will keep everyone posted. Do not suggest anyone to attempt to duplicate this. I understand the risks involved and what to look out for.
Pretty scarey... I have probably been chain vaping on the OMG w/ a 1.5 dual coil and encounter the flashing button problems a lot, and did not know I was taking a big risk.
I stopped using the OMG now, and went back to using regular batteries because of this concern.
I am not sure if I want to drill out a larger vent hole and switch to a 2.0 dual coil or single coil... or just stay away from the omg all together..

GF there is a lot to this story posted by Roly that is simply unknown. My comments are certainly not an indictment of the 5v OMG. The post serves as a poignant safety reminder that there are certain things to always take into consideration when using any type of lithium battery device. This is one of those areas where a little technical knowledge like proper venting, battery rating, power draw, and battery protection can serve you well.
The 5v OMG is no different than many PVs that are on the market today. Switching from 1.5ohm Dual Coil to 2.0 or 2.5 Ohm Dual Coil for your Tank is easy, it will draw less power from the batteries, and will work better with all of your juices. Riva came out with first version of the Indulgence V3, a non vented mechanical mod that uses stacked batteries to achieve 6 or 7volts, it's basically has the potential to go "boom". They have since released a newer version which sports not just 1, but 3 vent holes.
Taking the added 30 second step of enlarging the vent hole is no different than taking the added step of putting safety glasses on when operating power equipment. It is not so much a question of "when" as it is a question of "if". Making these preventative changes will keep you safe should the day come that "if" turns into "did". That being said, I think your 5v OMG can serve you well and provide you with a great vaping experience.

I think I will make an attempt to enlarge the vent hole and see if I can get a hold of 2.5 om dual coil cart for my tank before resuming the use of my OMG just to be on the safe side.

When I switch to a 2.0 or 2.5 om dual coil on the OMG, should i see less light blinking indicating a power overload?
I was getting the blinking button light even on the first attempt to vape sometimes.

GF....I believe it should eliminate the blinking light issue completely as it drops the amperage draw by almost a full point.

I have drilled the vent hole to 7/64. Do you guys/gals think that is big enough? If so....I'll be back to it today. I am still a bit nervous, but I am addicted to the OMG as if it were crack.........ha. I promised myself to take all precautions to be sure my face doesn't melt off.

Same here, just ordered 3 of the 2.0 and 2 of the 3.0 ohm to use on the OMG.
I got the vent hole drilled out... this literally took 1 minute to do.

Even though I use high quality batteries and don't plan on stacking, it really does only take a minute to add/enlarge a vent hole. Doing so could save you a lot of trouble, even your life -- I think that's worth a minute of your day.
I have a metal tube mod that supposedly vents from behind the switch. I've always been curious if that was enough but have been too lazy to add more vents. After reading these posts, I took a few minutes and drilled an additional gas vent at the bottom of the mod.
While I have a Dremel, a cordless drill was my weapon of choice. You'll need a drill bit set... these can be found at most hardware stores for just a few bucks. I used a Dremel 628 7 Piece Drill Bit Set that usually runs around $7. Here's a quick step-by-step:
First step is to remove the batteries and set them aside. This is very important. If your mod can be disassembled further, I would recommend doing this as well. Next, start with the smallest bit you have and drill a small hole at the desired position. You may need to apply some pressure at first in order to get the bit to "bite" but once you're through the metal, it is smooth sailing. I started with a 1/32-inch bit (about 0.8mm) and incrementally stepped up the bits to 3/64-inch, 1/16-inch, and 5/64-inch. The final diameter came out to 2mm and it took longer to switch out the bits than it did to drill the hole.
Feel free to shoot me a PM if there are any questions. And if you're unsure if you can do this yourself, ask a family member, friend, or neighbor if they can do it for you. You could probably even ask vapor shops, hardware stores, jewelers, or mechanics for help... I can't see them charging you much, if anything, once you explained why you needed it done.
