You'll find the new compression bands can handle more torque due to their larger size, so they should be more durable and not need replacing as frequently or at all. We don't have any v2 bands for sale at this time.

In reality I have never replaced my ELA V1 compression band... I have had it for over a year now... You let me know if and when I can buy a few extra ELA V2 compression bands... Thanks...:)

I did replace one of my V1 compression bands. But, 'just cause'. Wanted to see how. :)

So how was it? Did the original one come out easy without deforming? I want to take mine out for a light sanding.... Anavidfan I know you can answer this question for me......;)

I'm still using my original band as well. I have removed and cleaned it several times. It's not that difficult, just make sure you push it out the side that doesn't have the lip. If you try to take it over that lip, you will definitely deform it. If you push it out the other side gradually with a small flathead screwdriver, it shouldn't be too difficult.

You polished it? How do you polish something satin? I haven't a clue how to do that.

It's not too difficult -- since glass bead finishes necessarily have to be used a low pressure (in order to avoid shattering the bead and causing sharp cuts in the metal), the finish typically isn't that deep.
I started with what is basically a rough scotchbrite wheel to knock it down. I hit all the smaller/hidden areas with radial abrasive disks up to 220 grit, and then buffed with an emery compound, then a finer compound, then a "coloring" compound. This ends up being a higher polish than the stock polished finish (it would be hard to get to that finish from a satin original), but for me that's fine for a topper.
I suppose if I didn't already have the supplies and equipment sitting around, it might be costly to do this but it's loads of fun :)

I got my v2 on Saturday. Barely had any time to play with it, but I like it a lot with the stock switch. I've got a sat switch on my v1, so that is helping me to fight the urge to buy a flat switch for the v2. :)

It might just be me, but my v2 seems shinier than my v1 (both are polished).
I think you should buy a Super-T flat switch and compare the two. :) I got my flat switch today, it's really neat!
