I know a lot of people are disappointed that more ELAs didn't go out this week. I ordered mine the very first week of January so I was really hoping that mine would ship out this week but it looks like it won't. I personally love the fact that David is personally inspecting each unit before it goes out the door. I can wait however long it takes to be sure that I will be 100% thrilled with the mod when I receive it. I have purchased many Pinoy mods since January and not one of them arrived the way it should have. I don't see what the appeal is for Pinoy crap

Take your time David, I appreciate everything that you do for us!

I don't have any and don't plan to, but I like how the Pinoy stuff has a distinctive style.

SuperT is making this a flagship model i think... presuming David continues to make 200 unit batches; 400 in first run already.

Look at Provari; USA made, quality, and the icon for years now (a ton in the classies since mechs are so popular), but I don't think even the "first runs" would be considered "collectible", and there are thousands and thousands of them.
I say ELA is the Provari of mech mods...

Unless ie. Martin guitar company ... their vintage guitars and ukulele's ARE collectible... and they made tons, starting in 1910 or so... a clean 50's or earlier Martin guitar or uke can get tons of money...

is SuperT the "Martin guitare/uke" of vape devices? hmmm

imo, if David made a line of "custom ELA's" .... rare and individualized, for a premium, there's your collectible.

While i own the TF Hornet RBA,which is not made by pinoy,i am on the hunt for the elusive new Trident RBA and the Nimbus.Right now the only place you can get either (in stock) is from myvape and cost is an arm and two legs with shipping included.

Sure you can make it sound like a lot when you type it all out like that... But what I see is a lot of things that could be done in steps... if you do all of that each time for every unit one at a time.. you are going to destroy a lot of efficiency walking about and switching between processes. Now if you set a goal on a number of units and did each of those steps one at a time to all of the units instead of working on one unit at a time... It would speed things up. Make an assembly line of sorts. Like.. you do a quarter of those steps to a number of units everyday, and then the next day you do the next quarter and by friday all that is left is slapping them together and packaging. If all 4 people are capable of doing all those steps and only do 4 a day that is still 4x4x5 assuming you do a 5 day work week. That's 80 units a week... But for all I know the other 3 people are only capable of looking at them and going... yeah that looks good.. lol

But i'm just thinking out loud here. I wouldn't want to sacrifice quality either don't get me wrong. But do whatever keeps you guys comfortable with your products. Plus this may very well be how you do things, but if not you might want to try it. Working in retail since I was able to drive has taught me a thing or two about efficiency after all the whipping and yelling.. lol

But I love you guys and your products are peerless! I'm just anxious as heck.

I hear you on the flow and assembly line approach. Coincidentally, we are working on improving and steamlining the process now. I have to let go of some of the control and delegate more. I know its frustrating for you the customer, but we're doing our best.

Out of all the things I have heard the darwin called, I would have to say this is the first time I have ever heard it called a "box mod".

Well, it is kinda boxy, well okay, its rectangular and honestly looks like an early cell phone.
Okay, Im not going to start a war over which is better, I know the Darwin is an amazing device, but really if one had no idea of the price, features and no idea of anything ecig, if you looked at them both and looked and just machining, and feel and looks, which would you choose?

not knocking Darwin....
but talk has been there is possibly a Kick or Crown function-able... not to mention DNA20, which can be put into any number of configurations...
I LOVE my DNA20 mod... its just TOO EASY to get what you want in a vape, and more. I have a DNA20 box mod and with he LED, its like a Darwin, that can go up to 20watts !!! and not expensive either... all thanks to maker of Darwin.

I know you shouldn't be talking here :) but has machining in-house improved the final finishing time like you thought it would?

Depends, am I still smoking? Darwin was what finally cured me off cigarettes, for me it is priceless. I vaped a year before I purchased the darwin, still smoking throughout the year. I even quit vaping entirely and went back to strictly smoking. When I received my darwin I no longer craved a cigarette. Times were different then, there wasn't rba's. We had cartos and atties.

Though to answer your question, I have no plans of selling either, but the ELA would be sold before my darwin would ever be sold and yes I could gain more profit off the darwin, if I were one of those types. I still use my darwin every so often.

Each person is different, you have to find what works for you. If you didn't have the problems I had while I was making the transition then my path probably would not apply to you.

The owner of a restaurant can never be the chef :). He has to delegate and over look. Just sucks I'm still like 2 weeks away I'm 147XX Bleh.

And those Pinoy mods look like the "designer" took a look at 5 different flash light designs, added in plumbing design, add a shake of engraving, and a crap load of brass/ copper and bam! There's your mod :). A couple aren't so bad.

Did Bob Ross let go of some of his control and delegate? Did Monet? Don't let one troll make you doubt yourself or your creative process. We can wait. Zeybrin is expressing first-world problems. He'll live.

:) I like 'em. At least the ones that aren't a total ripoff of something else you can point at it and go "Yep, that's what it is."
