This was a much needed step in order for the bill to get introduced to the House and Senate. This is a big step.

As it stands now, the FDA has stated that without approval of the congress, the Grandfather date of 2007 would be in place. No new products introduced after 2007 would fall under that rule. The Cole Bill would push the Grandfather Date back (or forward. Whichever way it is looked at) to include and protect the devices currently on the market.

This is a Very good thing.

We still have a lot of work to do. Just because it can be heard in both doesn't mean it's a given. We must put pressure on our Senators and Representatives to vote in favor of this.

I've written everyone in my state I can write. Signed every petition and just renewed my ECF Supporting Membership! And I know the core folks who post here every day are doing the same. Together we Stand. Divided we Fall!

I dunno... I drove by two high schools today and saw lots of kids smoking, but not one vaping. Unless all of these underage kids are vaping in their basements making YouTube cloud videos, I just don't see many kids using vaping for NIC delivery. Maybe it is a Canadian thing....

The article is trash. It basically says that kids who view online ads are more likely to try e-cigs than kids who haven't.

Smoking is not advertized, yet teens smoke. There are many programs in schools that teach against smoking and "other stuff", but teens still do. There are laws in every state against selling cigs to teens, yet they get their hands on smokes. Cigarettes only come in tobacco and methol flavors and teens still buy them.

Teen smoking has dropped a lot since ecigs came out; however, I haven't seen any figures stating how many more still smoke vs using ecigs. Would be good to know. Why are teens still smoking with all the past 30 yrs of gov. health dept.'s, schools and parents urging and teaching ......and preaching NOT to!

And here's another article suggesting ads are getting kids hooked on e-cigs, which 'may' lead to tobacco use. The stats are flawed on so many levels its scary. And by their own admission, they only surveyed once.

That's just it, Ocelot. The people setting the rules and regs have done neither and so can't compare. It's like they're saying a mud pie is the same as a chocolate pie.
