You know how people mumble when their mouths are full?
It turns out cats do too.
I learned to never open the door when my big old black cat Tobie was mumbling... It invariably meant he had a live bird he wanted to give to me.
I always thanked him profusely, even on those occasions when he managed to get one into the house.
Sera is much louder than a mumble. She has a distinctive meow when she has her mouth full. Then the race begins! Can I catch up with her before she drops it (since it may just be stunned)? There are two ways to go
through the house from the door, so I only have a 50% chance of going the right way - all the while hoping she won't drop it. Of course, I always praise her as I'm
throwing whatever it is outside.
She has had some interesting prey. I came home one night to feathers on the floor. Quail feathers. Not baby quail feathers, but full grown ones. Did you know that full grown quail are the size of a small chicken? The battle must have been epic. There were feathers all though the house and furniture was knocked over.
