I know

We do have to chose our words wisely :)

It hurts my heart when I see those I care about lose their will to fight. I do what I can to try and fire that passion up again. It has to be done in a positive way though.

I think DP should tell his story here.

Just the way he told it on FaceBook.

Sorry for throwing you under the bus, DP. I think it will help right now.

No bus, Robin. It was written for a non-vaping audience though, trying to get THEIR attention. I was actually surprised by the response, and quite humbled. Thank YOU for your part. It meant a lot.

I think vaping takes a step back because of the deeming regs ... however, it will make a comeback when the truth prevails.

unfortunately many lives and jobs will be lost first

Well said, Mistah Zee. Hopefully we can salvage it in time...

After seeing the Deeming regs ... If I was ProVape, I would not discontinue the 2.5 ... the 2.5 would be the first device I would try to get approved. 15 watts works to get people off smokes ... the 100+ high wattage devices came about because ... clouds bro

Be interesting to see how this plays out. I think most will agree that the market is moving to predominantly 60-200W devices... but if (likely WHEN) a 30ml of juice is over $1/ml after tax/certs, clouds Brah could be a distant memory.

Hell, even I will avoid blowing thru 10-20ml juice a day at 30-75W and I make my own. 10-12W on Provaris, here I come!

Again, Aspire coils are my only exposure. Not a bad spot to be in.

Can I at least post a link to the FB spot?

Sometimes even vapers need to know exactly what they are fighting for....not just for themselves but for EVERYONE that wants or needs a choice other than cigarettes.

Your story touched me in ways you cannot even fathom. There but for the grace of God, go I.

It's a great story and a testament to the benefits of vaping. I hope he will post a link to the story.........Yes I do.

This should be our theme song:

Here is a letter I sent Florida Senator, Bill Nelson:

Dear Senator Nelson,

I don't know where to turn, but I'm hoping you can help me and the millions of Americans who will be significantly harmed by the new FDA Deeming Regulations for electronic cigarettes.

I was a smoker. For close to 40 years of my adult life, I smoked, even though I knew I was slowly killing myself. While I hadn't suffered significant health issues yet, I knew it was only a matter of time before I did and I needed to stop smoking. I tried the patch. Didn't work. I tried prescriptions drugs. Didn't work. I tried gum. Didn't work.

It wasn't until I discovered electronic cigarettes that I was finally able to get off the evil nasty tobacco weed. It's been five years now since I last smoked. My health is so dramatically improved. My arteries are clear. My lungs are clear. My doctor is so happy with my overall health and I owe it all to vaping.

Recently the Royal College of Physicians in the UK, published extremely positive research demonstrating that vaping is 95% (possibly more) healthy than smoking cigarettes. And yet our own Government, via the FDA has just released regulations that will kill 99% of the electronic cigarette marketplace. So many good US companies and people will lose their jobs, their business, their income. If you haven't read through the deeming regulations, I ask that you do so. The FDA will so severely cripple the vaping marketplace that it will be virtually impossible for people to get off cigarettes safely like I have.

While it pains me to say this, it's clear the FDA is in the pockets of Big Tobacco. For surely they have given the vape market to them and it's a huge win for them. A huge loss for little people like me.

Should there be regulations for Vaping products? Yes. Should underage teenagers be allowed to purchase Vaping products? No. Should there be safety standards for the juices vaped in electronic cigarettes? Of course. But the regulations as they stand and by the FDA's own admission will make it impossible for 99% of the companies in the US to continue to provide a far safer and yes healthier alternative to cigarettes.

I am begging you, not just for me, but for future generations, don't let the FDA do something that is clearly NOT in the best interest of the very people they are charged with protecting. Please help us stay off cigarettes and join your constituents who so desperately need your voice and support in modifying these heinous regulations.

Yous Sincerely,

Rod Brylawski

I DID NOT come here to read fancy math tricks!;)

But you are right. If nobody in America smoked and the life expectancy was increased to 85-90. The govt would be broke in a matter or years.

We are all reading too much into all of this but $10 says that Blu, Vuse, Njoy et al are already well down the certification process track.

You are correct. And what did they do to Njoy? A couple of years ago when I was thinking about dumping Black & Mild cigars for e-cigs I bought a couple of packs. Not bad. In fact pretty good. But the cost far out weighed what I was spending per week on cigars. Last year I was going to be in a hotel for a couple of days. I didn't know if they'd allow me to vape or not, so I bought a pack. Terrible. It felt and tasted like I was trying to suck a t__d through a straw!

I quite like my Vuse as a backup. Way too expensive for full time use though.

Not even close to being as good as my DIY in a Kabuki on a Provari, but I could stay off smokes if I was only allowed to smoke cigalikes.

Definitely not an avenue I would like to explore in any case!

I'll share DPL's story (he's out and about and running fast today), with his permission.

Firstly, he would beg you to please understand and not lose site of the fact that he did not write this to be about him, but more as a response to the big picture as regards the FDA regs we are all facing. He also wanted to impact those who were not already vapers, which is why he didn't choose to share it here.

But kuriousity is a powerful force, and because he left the decision to me, I'm opting in for you guys.

He began with the intention of writing a tongue-in-cheek news flash, about how the FDA saved smoker's rights, and how "lucky" we were to have them fighting for our rights. But his mindset shifted.

"Somewhere close to five years ago, Dr. Stephen Bauer said words that caused me to almost faint.

“You’ll almost definitely lose these two toes, and I’m going to try to not cut it off at the knee.”

An artery in my right leg had basically shut down. Annihilated by 30+ years of smoking. Within hours, I was admitted to Stamford Hospital, and they “blew-out’ the artery. It worked, temporarily, but he said that I needed an arterial bypass if I wanted to truly save the leg.

We scheduled the bypass surgery, for about a month out. It was to be on a Wednesday.

Two days before the surgery, that Monday, I went in for a final check-up. It was basically a formality. After completing the Doppler test, Dr. Bauer looked absolutely stunned.

“This is impossible. Your artery is clearing. Did you stop smoking?”

I explained that I had, but that I was using these electronic cigarette things, having had no idea if they were any good. He said, “I don’t know, but whatever you’re doing, KEEP DOING IT.”

He cancelled the bypass surgery, but insisted that I come for monthly check-ups. I did, never missing a single one. With each passing month, things kept getting better and better. This process continued for 18 months.

He finally said to me, “There’s absolutely no reason for you to be in my care. Your arteries are as clean as can be. I’m releasing you. But know that if you ever put another cigarette to your mouth, that I’m going to cutting off that leg, somewhere down the line.”

Well, I haven’t put another cigarette to my mouth. Not a single one.

But thanks to our own Food & Drug Administration, somebody down-line, well, they’re gonna be losing a leg.

You .......s."

It's become obvious, and even more important, that we ALL share our stories, as this is what truly touches other people to the core. Enlist the non-vapers when and where we can. We could use all the soldiers we can find right about now...
