I'm not political, but when a state enacts legislation that is so blatantly discriminatory as was enacted in North Carolina, I can't keep my anger and utter disappointment quiet. Not that I can do anything, but I was able to successfully email the Governor of North Carolina and I'm sharing what I sent him here:

Dear Governor McCrory,

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for showing the true colors of North Carolina. Thanks to your leadership and for immediately signing legislation that is the strongest anti-LGBT legislation in the country, pushed through a legislation session basically held in secret, we will never again visit your state.

After visiting Asheville, last year, so enjoyable, we thought North Carolina, might be a nice place to retire. Instead, not only will we never set foot in your state again, we will as you can well imagine, encourage everyone we know to do the same.

As a gay man, who is now legally married to my first and only partner of 36 years, I would not want to be where I'm not welcome or protected. You see, when you enact legislation that is specifically targeted to promote discrimination, you are indeed telling me and every other gay American, we are not welcome or wanted in your state.

And before you say that as resident of the state of Florida, I also live where universal protection from discrimination for the LGBT community is not guaranteed. I happen to live in the great city of Tampa, which does provide protection from discrimination. That is after all, what prompted the legislation you so quickly enacted into law. You and your legislators were unwilling to permit the city of Charlotte, to provide protection to the LGBT community, something they so boldly chose to do.

Also, please spare me the rhetoric about keeping bathrooms safe from Transgendered people. I defy you to point to one case of anyone coming in harms way from an encounter with a transgendered person in a restroom, unless they themselves were the one being attacked.

So, thank you Governor McCrory. We hear you loud and clear, as I suspect have millions of individuals around the world, along with big and small companies who will likely use their wallets, payrolls, checkbooks and mouths to demonstrate how utterly disappointed we are in you and the state of North Carolina,

Respectfully,

Rod Brylawski
Not to really push this but I wanted to applaud you for speaking up. In Houston last year our gay mayor tried to pass the HERO law. It was a non discrimination law for our fair city. Needless to say it failed. I was so disappointed by it. This law was not only going to protect transgender but our veterans as well. Of course all the religious zealots came out of the woodwork because they did not want transgender people in their restrooms for fear of them attacking their women and children. As I am not political I still found myself speaking out as much as I could. See for me personally I fear teachers and doctor's way more than I fear transgender men and women. My hope is one day we can all just live and let live.

My wife got her muddy girl back yesterday. My memory not being what it used to be I can't remember what the original really looked like, but this new one does seem to have a shine to it that the original did not. Again keep in mind icrs. I did order her a clear jwrap for it which should be here in a few days. I just think it was best to do that in the end. It was truly nice seeing her smile and happy as she has been under the weather for the last week. I am glad I went ahead and made the tkt. Thank yall for suggesting I should.
