Older people tend to stick with what they know. More times than not, getting them to try something new or different is too much & goes way other their heads.
Oh, I would believe that, heck, I resemble that remark.
I'll turn 50 this year, and I already find myself slow to try new things, and just hesitant to change in general...not just vape related. :)

Have you visited the Old Folks Porches?

You'ld be surprised how many of the people on ECF are in their 50s, 60s, and even 70s. And, many of them DIY and build their own coils (probably the majority).

Yes I have visited.
No I'm not surprised.
Maybe the folks on the front porch do but No I don't believe the majority of older ECF members DIY & build coils.

You'ld be surprised. Us older folks have seen enough history to know the need for independence.

52y.o. cranking coils and mixing like a mad scientist. Been around long enough to KNOW not to trust my government.

So, in 2010 the FDA was worried that 4 million nicotine addicts would overwhelm the healthcare system, yet 6 years later, after we found something that works, they are regulating it out of existence. Are they ...... that we didn't get their permission to save ourselves?
Yes, yes they are. But it's more than that. They're ...... because in saving ourselves, we have put $0 in their pockets. The FDA's employer - BT and Pharma is even more ....... It's all about $$$$$$$$$. And there's not one shred of care for our health in their mission.

...I really didn't realize that people ever continued to use those things past the first few weeks.

There's a young man in my office who vapes a cigalike. I offered to give him a 2.5 and kanger system long ago and he had absolutely no interest in having what he called a big clunky complicated system. He seems happy with what he uses and maybe he's more fortunate for that.

So here's something I would never be excited to say I bought this weekend if I was still a smoker. But I'm not a smoker and yes, I am VERY excited!

Octane-Q35x-elliptical-machine.jpg

One of the many reasons we wanted to sell our condo and buy a place with more space is that I really wanted to be able to get on a gym quality elliptical, without having to go to the gym and for the elliptical to be in a room all by itself. The new house gives is this opportunity and after checking out many machines, this one from Octane, while way more money that I thought we'd have to spend, felt so ergonomically correct that I know I will use this a LOT!

And after a workout, I'll then be able to go get in what we bought for the backyard last weekend:

Hope you're all having a great weekend! Lord knows we've been out single-handedly, supporting the economy.

Love this post Lori ... I do similar stuff.

Perfect strangers I see smoking outside my office building ... they show interest when they see me out there with 2 ProVaris ... I then tell them, I'll bring you one tomorrow, you take it home, use it over the weekend and just try to cut back on a few smokes ... bottle of juice, 4 batteries and a little blue screwdriver.

I tell them to Google ProVape and Kayfun ... these setups are proven cigarette killers.

Cool thing is that I am seeing more and more vapers outside my office but I work right downtown.

I did run into a nice goth girl last week who was smoking while I vaped. We started chatting and it turned out she was smoking only because she was out of juice and couldn't afford more. She has a few good mods, but working retail in a retail store in the PATH (Toronto underground shops) doesn't pay a lot. I have 6-7 full/almost full bottles of juice that I am dropping off with her next week. She is ecstatic and I would have thrown out the juice anyways.

I ALWAYS love reading about the generosity of vapers. I was a generous smoker [i.e., when a smoker was in need of a smoke, I never hesitated to give them one or two or three or the entire pack) and as a vaper I have continued that. I've given away a lot of equipment, juice, coils, atty's over the years. Good on you Brent for helping that girl out!

I agree, they're prob going to end up better off than we are, in the very long run, unless something changes the path that the reg's are on now.

Yep, been there, got THAT t-shirt.
DH was looking at new spas a couple weeks ago. We have one that was a freebie, circa late 1980's.
But, it was a really nice one from that era, that had been only kept indoors, however....it's just about shot.
Your's looks like it will be a NICE one!! Ours looks similar to that, just OLD...and only a fraction of the jets...
but hey, it bubbles, heats, and sort of massages.

ETA: I just looked at yours again, ours doesn't look like that really, except that ours
is also square... That's a REALLY COOL ONE you're getting!!

It's a pretty nice spa and it's made to order from a large spa manufacturer in the Tampa area. They sell them nationwide. It has lot's of jets, a waterfall and multi-color led lighting and one side of it, is a lay down area for a total body massage. The only difference in the spa we'll be getting is we chose a different interior finish. It's not shiny like the picture above. It's textured and more pool like. In the sun, the water is more pool like. Here's a pic of the finish (not our spa):
