EDIT: Protank doesnt suck. One of the heads sucked, or the "remove the top wick" method caused leaking. I switched to the other head included and my now my Protank works beautifully.

Just got a Protank..vaping a mostly VG peach juice... Cant seem to get a single puff..not even close. Nothing but gurgling and leaking...wasted about 6 ml of juice now.. All it does is leak out of the bottem or get sucked up through the mouthpiece..

Not only was this unit built terribly crooked with a oblong shaped glass tank...it doesnt hit AT ALL.. Nothing but wasting my juice.

Very disappointed in this unit. No wonder its only 16 bucks.. piece of crap made in China. Never buying Kanger .... again.

And I wonder if people in new members forum even try the product before they go recommending it to new users...

What a scam...

Yeah modifying kangers isn't a good idea. Some people say it works but...........hmm........Never worked for me. Makes you think doesn't it !

Selling prebuilt heads... Thats an interesting idea.

Before i jump into business mode, i gotta say rebuilding is actually much easier than it sounds. But i suppose if you know nothing about physics it could be dangerous...

Myrany: the VAMO will not let you down. I dont use it as much any more as i have transitioned to mechs, but it is something that will always work solidly for you to fall back on, no matter what advanced "mods" you have moved up to.

She doesn't have to know anything about physics; give me a break. All she needs is a clear procedure to follow.

I have 2 protanks, sorry your having problems. I havent had any problems with gurgling, but didnt like the taste. I rewicked my coils with cotton, and made new coils. Wrap coils with a 4/40 screw and used a bead needle to pull wick into coils

Hi, bckane. This looks like a very cool and elegant technique. I haven't tried making coils yet, but I plan to. About the cotton wicks: Where does one get them? Is it generic cotton of some sort, or sourced from a diy vendor?

Also, can anyone suggest the best resource for learning the next steps, i.e., where/how to attach the coil? Thanks!

find pBusardo's you tube review video on the vivi nova and the protank. Recoiling and rewicking are done basically the same as the vivi nova but the wicks are cut shorter and there are 2 small top flavor wicks laid across. Once you see the vivi nova one and see a prtank head taken apart you will know what I am talking about.

Funny how one can change their mind so easily after calming down and figuring out what is going on.:D
Yes mass manufacturing ultimately leads to issues, most of which can be resolved.

Yes, she does. If she merely follows a procedure, at least 2 things will happen:

- she will not know how to troubleshoot, especially with atty heads like the Protanks where you cannot see the entire coil. Say she follows the tutorials, then it doesnt work. What now?
- there is a risk of dead shorts and exploding batteries. At least it can kill the circuitry in ego batts.

Dont go around telling people to rebuild without proper knowledge in what theyre doing. You may be the cause of the next li-ion bomb in someones face. If you want, do it yourself and let others stay safe.

Just to add some input on this. i got my protank yesterday and so far i feel like it is doing well for how cheap it is. The only problem i had was one of the heads it came with so i recommend OP that you check the other head, plop it on there and see if that works. Another thing, i have heard that sticking the evod heads on it make it even better, better draw, better vape. i just ordered a few low res evod heads so im just waiting on them now but i will let you know as soon as i try it out. i have hope for it. but for right now i feel it is alot like the aga-t but the vapor production is a tad better, it is definitely my work/travel tank. these are just my opinions and everyone is entitled to their own, but i do suggest tinkering it a little bit more before completely giving up on it.

Got the evod heads at 1.8ohms and I could tell you that they have significantly improved the vape, flavor and the gives a tighter draw. Love it.

I have loved my ProTanks from day 1 and have had no problems with the ProTank heads. I use 80 PG/20 VG juice. Only problem I've had is when one rolled off the kitchen counter yesterday and shattered on the tile floor, full of ecto cooler, a very sad sad moment. I will be ordering more today. If something does go wrong, I'll have instructions here on how to fiddle with it.

I've had my Protank for a couple of weeks now and except for the airy draw absolutely love it. I did rebuild one of the atty heads that came with it with some 400 mesh screen. It didn't leak but tasted pretty bad, but that's not the tanks faut that's on me. It works great on my evic.
But as I'm thinking about it, once I get my Cobra up and running satisfactorily my opinion on the Protank will be moot.

i ordered 3 for £27. one each for me and the mrs.. been vaping for 4 months not had many differant carto's but we both find them excellent, i have heard that the first batches were dodgy but the new ones seem fine(mine anyhow) so maybe a bit hit and miss or maybe just sorted out original problems, only gripe is a little airy, but i just cover a hole with my index finger as i vape and the pull is great with a good taste and no more melting plastic with my cinnamon liquid with tank being pyrex so at 12.50 a tank i find it a GREAT investment :)

I fixed the bottom leaking and the airy draw issues (more like compensate for it by increasing vapor production). Now it vapes like a freaking champ: vapor comparable to a Genesis, smooth flavor and solid throat hit. Not completely on par with my Gennies just yet in terms of flavor delicateness, but a darn good vape. And it looks slick on my CCTS. Love it.

I bought 2 Protanks, after trying out the Evods, and finding myself forever needing to refill them. The Protank holds 2.5ml, which does a good part of the day, and is the same as the Evod, but bigger. In fact the wicks are interchangeable which is an advantage.
If you find them too airy there are 3 little holes on the 510 screw, and one of them can be blocked with the point of, for example, a toothpick, which you then break off.
When mine gurgle it's usually the resistance not screwed in enough to the base.
The different forms of the glass tank give them an air rustic, at least for me ;)
One problem my friend had was the fragile attachment of the screw 510 to the base...if it falls in a bad angle from over 1metre, maybe a bit higher. It's a shame that the base isn't in SS. So I don't advise dropping them ;)
I use 2ohm resistances, any higher and it doesn't seem to produce much vapour. With my 100% VG no dry hits, a rarity with many devices.
IMO it gives a great taste, and clouds of vapour at 2ohms, and I find it really good for a price way below other genesis type tanks, for example, when you compare the actual vape quality, and it is a good size.
I'm sure that there will be improvements in future versions, but for the moment...GREAT :D
