Anyone know which atty is best with the protege?

I currently have 2 801 attys and wonder if i should order the 501 to try it...

What is the actual differance between the 501 & 801? or even the 901 - the 901 i actually saw in person and think its more like the smoking everywhere gold attys (curse them to... ok i'll be nice w/e)

I'm new, don't flame me too hard, but i did order the protege. and i've waiting for it now... USPS doesn't run today URGH!

I already hate my 801 batteries... by the time i kill one, the other isn't done charging.

Any input would be awesome.

"Best" is a very subjective thing. It really all boils down to personal preference. I have tried all three 801, 901, 510. I find the 801 too airy and cool. The 901 has the best flavor to me. The 510 simulates an analog the best to me. It falls between the 801 and 901 as far as I'm concerned. It's a little easier to draw than the 901 and has more flavor than the 801 but not as much as the 901.

The nice thing about the Protege is that you can buy different adapters to find out which you prefer without spending alot on a kit for each unit. If you have 801 atomizers I would suggest getting the 510 kit which includes 1 atomizer, then order the 801 adapter to use with your current atomizers. You can then test both.

I switch back and forth throughout the day mostly between the 510 and the 901. Occasionally I use the 306 on the 510 adapter and the 401 on it's own adapter.
Switching around keeps me from getting bored with one particular atomizer and each produces it's own flavor with the same juice.

Whatever you decide, you will love the Protege for style, quality, versatility and battery life. Buy one now, you will not be sorry.

Definitely try the 510. I put it off because I had the 901 and didn't want to stock different atomizers, but I really like the 510. I now understand why everyone raves about them.
I hope you like the 801 on the Protege, many prefer the 801 to all the different atomizers. I just don't happen to be one of them. To each his own.

It's all personal preference.

At 3.7v I think the 510 with a good PTB mod is a much better choice. The 801 for me just didn't have the punch I wanted and those pesky, leaky carts were a PITA.

On a 5v device like the Prodigy, the 801 is probably a good choice for dripping, but I'm still not sure I wouldn't rather have a 510 and a cart.

I've got all 3. The 801 is the mildest, and doesn't have any better flavor then my 901, IMO. The 510 hits nice, but the flavor isn't as good and sometimes tastes a bit burnt. I've settled into the 901 as my all-day standard. Sitting around the house, I will switch up and play around iwth the different setups. But if I am going to be out and about and have just one set up, it's been the 901, for sure.

my personal preference is the 801.
mostly because it holds more juice -
so I'm not fiddlin' and topping off as often as I would be with a 510.
the extra length is worth the convenience for me, and I like the draw.

nothin' wrong with a 510. I started with one, and am considering getting an adapter eventually.

if after trying the 510 you don't care for it, I'm sure someone will take it off of your hands at "classifieds and swaps" ;)

p.s.never tried the 901
and - I hear you on the 801 batts - very frustrating for it not be charged in time.
haven't encountered that situation with the protégé :)

thank you all for your input... i really want to try the atty that i can "dip" because i could possibly try different flavors easier... thats really what i'm looking for right now because i want to find the right flavor for me... maybe make up my own... i need to find it though haven't been able to find a link yet...

the anticipation is BAD FOR QUITTING ANALOGS. PS needs UPS or FEDEX lol...

does anyone know if the tube that the mouthpiece slides into on the 801 could be cut shorter.
What would be the effect if any?

I would think the problem with cutting would be the cart as the last post said, but if you were dripping and cut it, the mouth peice might not fit anymore because of the taper on the atty cut too much and the slip fit of the mouthpiece would become too loose and just fall out.

im new, i have the volcano and joye 510. im planning to buy a new PV, thinking protege or vaprlife vp2. i want the 14500 battery. im tired of switching batts all the time especially my volcano. i need help deciding between protege or vp2. i like both of them but im worried about the switch problem on the protege. that alone might want to go with the vp2 and also the leds looks cool.

I have the 801 and it does add some length to the Proto - a bit more than I'd like actually.

The other thing I've noticed between my 801 and 901 is the batt life is less for me on the 801 - but I really heat it up and vape heavy. And by 'less' I mean 5 hours vs. 8-ish.

The 801 itself is lots of vapor but cooler, less throat hit and a bit less flavor - but very easy draw.
