I started with cigalikes for a bit over 2 years and then moved to egos and finally bought my Provari and I do like it very much. My main reson for buying was that it is American made and I will always try to buy american when I can. Is it worth 2 times the price of a Chinese copycat...........IMHO yes it is.

The idea that American manufacturing is somehow better than Chinese manufacturing is either coming from people who don't understand the field, or coming from people who are resentful. China builds stuff the exact same way that we do. The vaunted American-made is a creature of the past, dead for 20 years or more.

That being said, there are quality Chinese manufacturers and there are cheap Chinese manufacturers. The problem with buying Chinese as that it really is hit or miss. The Chinese government keeps such a tight lid on the internet and communications that it's tough to get reliable information to make a well-researched decision.

If you want to play it safe, buy a Provari. If you're an American, you've got the added benefit of supporting an American company that provides American jobs and pays American taxes.

If you can't afford one, don't buy one. Buy an SVD or Vamo or ZMax or MVP or whatever and replace it 6 months or a year from now when you can afford the $50 or $60 again.

This is a fruitless argument. It's the difference between folks who smoked Marlboros and folks who smoked budget brands. Some people have the money, or can justify it in their own minds, and some folks don't have the money or can't justify spending it on that device.

That being said - the Provari is a bit outdated at this point. Variable wattage is needed just to keep up with the APV market. Someone should poke Provape and get them on board... I haven't bought a Provari yet, and it's for exactly that reason. I don't lack the funds, but for that price it better be either a beautiful mech, or a VV/VW device of the highest quality.

Just my :2c:

I hear this comment (read, actually) all the time. If that is so, then WHY oh WHY are we still talking about it? Could it be that maybe, just maybe, it's not outdated... ?

My Bobo is waaay cooler than any other mod on the planet.

Tiz. The only thing that might increase its cool factor would be if it were leopard... ;)

I could care less about how much somebody has spent for a device. I could also care less if that said person post on a forum bragging about how much they have spent on said devices. I am happy for them either way because they are no longer smoking!

I don't recall ever seeing bragging, but I agree that it's wonderful we are ex-smokers. :)

Don't ya just hate it when your Vamo is showing?

Looks like Bobo has definitely spotted a friend. ;)

ooOOoo! Who is that? Let's see... on/off switch, button, appears 14500 size... By Jove I think it's outdated! You must send it to me immediately for proper disposal.

You know you buy a car, sooner or later it needs new parts. You buy batteries then throw them away. There isn't much being produced that isn't disposable. I remember a joke from a comedy show here in england. There's this road sweeper, he's talking to his mate about his broom, he says "i've had this broom now for 10 years, it's had 20 new handles and 40 new heads."

Could just buy a cheap broom specifically to throw away when it's worn out. It's what the whole world is doing anyway, because things get worn out don't they. And nothing lasts forever does it !.

But you could go the new handle and new head route if you want to fool yourself that it does actually last forever.
Damn, you're a stubborn little bugger, aren't you? Has it ever occurred to you that ProVape can offer the service and warranty they offer because their products tend to work...not break. How many threads consist of how many times our ProVaris got fixed. If something happens, they'll fix it....usually nothing happens. You're grasping at straws here. It makes no difference to me whether you use a Tesla or a ProVari. I don't care how you spend your money. You love your Tesla? Good! You seem like a Tesla guy. You found a device that suits you. Let's rejoice.

First, not taking any sides here. I'm sure a Provari is a superb, high quality device. However, I've also noticed similarities to Apple-loyalist discourse; Apple products/Provaris are the only valid option as everything else sucks, and those who claim anything else are simply ignorant. I own an Innokin SVD that I'm very happy with and don't feel the need to get a Provari nor do I ever expect to do so. There are several reasons for this, none of which are based on any suspicions that a Provari would be anything but a great device. $200 (or whatever it may be to get one here in Europe) isn't much compared to what I was spending on smoking, but it is significantly more than other VV mods that more or less do the same thing (albeit possibly not doing the same thing quite as well as a Provari). It's also a lot of money if I happen to lose it during a night of well-mannered binge drinking, and I don't want to be limited to an EGO when out and about. Also, the repair costs for the Provari come close to the price of some other mods, and more when factoring in shipping costs to and from the US. A cheaper mod also makes it easier for me to justify the purchase of a new device when something interesting hits the market. Having said all that, these are MY reasons for not getting a Provari and others have other priorities. I do, however, object to the "throw it away and get a Provari"-responses to people having issues with their EGOs or non-Provari mods.
