The Saloon is one month old today. Quite a Grand Opening.

Have you seen or heard of any good info on the Diver v2? I might have to try one.

Apparently there are quite a few...

You have posters here talking about scraping off contacts with all sorts of highly inappropriate methods. People like Ocelot suggesting "rubbing alcohol". It should be 99% isopropyl alcohol. It is a small investment to obtain this product, but it is the best way to care for your ProVari. Get it on Amazon, eBay, whatever. You are very unlikely to find it at a local store, so order it now.

Thank you, Technonut, for pointing them in the right direction.

I haven't read it yet... I use a hammer, oven cleaner and a credit card.

Okay, so Provari post. I've been getting kinda wacky readings and getting the low battery flash when my batts are fairly fresh off the charger, trying to figure out what's going on, because the batts were actually charged up and fine. I'm sitting here freaking a little, because hey, Provari, not supposed to have issues! WTH??? Anyway, I take the battery out and notice a little schmutz on the button top. I shine a light down in, and sure enough, the contact inside is all schmutzed up as well. I took a screwdriver and carefully scraped it off, but I don't want to really go at it with something like that and potentially muck up the electronics, what do you guys use to clean that off?

If your provari was made before Dec 2012 you can flush it with isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) just fill it a little passed the chip and shake it. Let it sit and dry out.

If it was made after that it has a protective covering that can be worn away by the alcohol. If you go to the provape website they have lots of tips and tricks for cleaning and whatnot. If you don't find exactly what you are looking for their customer support is awesome and they'll hook you up

Short of dunking your Provari like that, try a qtip soaked in 90% isopropyl alcohole and cleaning the contact pin. Several times. Until the qtip comes away clean. Do the same for the spring on the end cap.
Maybe give your battery terminals the same cleaning.

Provapes suggests you do this weekly.

Yeah, I have no idea when it was made, nor how I would go about getting that info. I'll play it safe and stick with the q-tip solution.

True the bath is for if the quoted suggestion doesn't do the trick. And again ONLY if your provari was made/ordered before December 2012.

My two cents:

I have been told by an employee of ProVape that the alcohol bath is only for a remedy for very specific situations, not to be used for regular maintenance. The Isopropyl alcohol will affect components in the chip adversely if done regularly. Maybe what you are saying is right, and older models won't be affected. It is news to me.

The recommended maintenance is to use a Q-tip and 99% alcohol. They say you can use 91% if you don't have 99%, and that is true. Baditude used a lower concentration alcohol on his for a bath when he had a problem, and it permanently clouded his LED screen. He wishes he had not used a lower concentration of alcohol in retrospect.

My advice:

Stick to the exact procedure I spell out in my blog. I reference the instructions from ProVape and I had this employee look them over and he said they were spot on. Deviate from them if you like, I don't.

We're saying pretty much the same thing here Mr. Stark. I wasn't saying to do that all the time I was saying that if qtip doesn't work and his unit keeps throwing codes at him if his is pre dec 12 he can try that (straight off their website).

I even agreed with your post and said that the bath was if for some reason that didn't work.
