Speaking of Protank problems, I have been having bubbling/leaking problems, but its only when I rebuild them. If its a brand new head right out of the box its fine. I have a feeling its something to do with the way i wrap the coils. Anyone else have issues like that?

I hope my ProTank2 works good, I hate fiddling w/crap. More i read about tank problems, the more carto tanks or dripping sounds interesting. Seems to have less issues then w/other toppers. I could b wrong, just an observation.

Just because Ocelots aren't native to the US doesn't mean we can't enjoy you in our American forum. ;)

Ocelots are native to America (why is the US so arrogant they think they are all of America?) and ocelots are native to the US. There aren't many left, but there is still a small group in Texas.

Wikipedia is open to interpretation. Found as far as Texas doesn't mean native to Texas. I know I'm barking up the wrong tree.

My initial comment was intended to show that I was on your side of the rawr, but I didn't watch my step am finding myself at the bottom of a tractionless slope. I do not intend to engage in a battle that I am fully confident I will lose. I don't have the brain power or enough coffee to go fact hunting. I'll be outwitted before google has time to load.

If you end up having problems, I would suggest just purchasing new heads for the Protank rather than fiddling with it. I get mine over at discountvapers.com

I've brought up the idea of a social thread before.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/478239-i-wonder.html

I even posted a thread in the ProVape supplier forum asking if we could have a social sticky like the Reo Lounge, but they never answered.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/478283-im-wondering.html

Perhaps the difference is that the Reo is made by one person and having a community is important to his sales, whereas ProVape is an actually company, not as dependent on word of mouth for customers.

There is a ProVari "Group," but it's a different kind of discussion. Navigating through the forum to find a group isn't easy. I was a member of one for about 5 months before I ever found it. Groups also don't have the same kind of input. Groups end up being a small number of people posting repeatedly, instead of having posts by new people with questions or to share their enthusiasm at getting a new ProVari.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/provari-users.html

It's the new posts that keep a section going - questions are answered, comments are added, information is shared. And sharing of information does take on a social aspect:

so·cial
ˈsōSHəl/
adjective
1.
of or relating to society or its organization.
synonyms: communal, community, collective, group, general, popular, civil, public, societal More
antonyms: individual

of or relating to rank and status in society.
"a recent analysis of social class in Britain"

needing companionship and therefore best suited to living in communities.
"we are social beings as well as individuals"

relating to or designed for activities in which people meet each other for pleasure.
"Guy led a full social life"
synonyms: recreational, leisure, entertainment, amusement More

noun
noun: social; plural noun: socials
1.
an informal social gathering, esp. one organized by the members of a particular club or group.
"a church social"
synonyms: party, gathering, function, get-together, soirée;

Unless responses to posts are copied and pasted from the instruction manual, they are going to be social in some way.

Perhaps part of the confusion comes from the description of the sub-forum. The Model Specific Discussions, such as this one, in the APV section are described as forums for "enthusiasts."

en·thu·si·ast
enˈTHo͞ozēˌast/
noun
1.
a person who is highly interested in a particular activity or subject.
"a sports car enthusiast"
synonyms: fan, devotee, aficionado, lover, admirer, follower;

Quite a conundrum. There is no doubt I am a ProVari enthusiast, so by strict definition I could post anything I like, ProVari-related or not, to other ProVari enthusiasts in an area designated for ProVari enthusiasts . Perhaps I'm mistaken in thinking that threads in the Lounge are for people who have things in common other than being devotees of a specific device.

If these Model Specific Discussions are not actually meant to be for enthusiasts, then perhaps it should be clearly stated that threads should pertain to technical issues only. Of course, that would pretty much turn this discussion into a ghost town, since how many post are entirely about technical issues? Just so you know, asking where to find a drip tip to match your tank isn't a technical question, or even a ProVari question, since you might use it on another mod without telling anyone. Technically looking for a drip tip should be posted in the "Where can I get a..." sub-sub-sub-forum. If you don't know where that is, you had better start looking. It's on the 2,000th post test. If you flunk, you have to go back to the New Members forum and post 5 times to get out. You will also lose your hotel on Broadway and your Tatroes.

I don't mean to sound critical of the mods. They do a thankless job I wouldn't want. I appreciate the effort they put forth to keep this forum civil and mature, but I wonder if in some situations they are making more work for themselves. I have read the rules. In fact, I have read the rules a few times recently trying to discern how they were applied in certain situations (nothing to do with this forum), and there are areas the rules don't cover at all. If the rules aren't clear, it suggests specific decisions are left up to the personal discretion of the individual mod. That's fine; it's their call, but if the decisions are inconsistent and contradictory, it doesn't do much in the way of providing direction of what is acceptable for future posts.

I think my observation about the "cleaning up" of this section actually echoes some of what Classy posted. It's true that cleaning up takes time, so then why read a two page thread and go to the trouble of moving it, when it is almost dead from natural causes? A Zap is a rebuildable, so perhaps it should be in the rebuildable section, but does anyone other than ProVari owners use a Zap? I don't know, which means if I was a mod I would have to ponder that for a minute or look it up. Realistically, if someone posted a question about a Zap in the rebuildables sub-forum would there be more helpful replies or more replies critical of owning a ProVari? Perhaps we should do a survey.

But I digress. Sort of. I wonder how long it takes to read a thread, consider whether or not it should be moved, decide what section it would be more appropriate in and go through the mechanics of moving it? If a thread is rudimentarily topical to the section it was originally posted in and has not been reported for TOS violations, is the endeavor worth the effort?

And, so, back full circle to all things ProVari. I went temporarily insane (should I post this in the Health section?) and have another one coming this afternoon. Which, of course, meant it had to have it's own tank, Loki ring and Serenity sleeve (would this be better in the "Show us your pretty..." thread?), which I accidentally ended up buying 2 of (does the Health section have a Mental Health sub-forum? If I put one up for sale in the classys would that be considered a cross-post?). He is a full-size Knight in Polished Armor, I have named Sir Galahad (Lounge material most certainly). Alas, I still won't be able to post pictures of the court until all his accouterments arrive (Lounge or Mental Health, it's a toss up).

I'm very much a winter guy....who's been living in South Florida for nigh on 20 years. My family moved down right after I left high school, ended up decided I liked living near my mom more than I liked winter, so I followed 'em down after college. Thankfully, my dad finally ended up taking a job in Raleigh, so I'm going to follow them up after season here. Not quite a New England winter, but at least they have seasons there, and North Carolina is just beautiful. The only seasons here are Hot, Wicked Hot, and Wicked Hot and Rainy with a chance of Hurricanes.

I didn't realize there was a battle going on. I just spout off trivial facts for no other reason than my brain is full of them and I need to make room for more as they arrive.

Did you know that Sir Galahad traditionally is pictured holding a white shield with a vermilion cross, the very same as given to the Templars by Pope Eugene III, which appears to lend credence to the interpretation of the Arthurian Legend by some scholars that the philosophical inspiration of the celibate, otherworldly character of the monastic knight Galahad came from the monastic order set up by St. Bernard of Clairvaux? I didn't either 15 minutes ago, but I do now.

I'm so JEALOUS! I used to live in SW Fla, go back every year, except this yr I'm heading to Phoenix for a wedding and dearly miss the Sunshine state. I absolutely love everything about Fla! I will take hot, wicked hot, Hurricanes and the quick rains you guys get.

I know you guys had a rainy summer, but again, I'd take it over freezing rain/snow any day!

Ha, the grass is always greener!!! I can't stand Florida, never felt at home here, can't wait to move away. Hate the heat, as soon as you get off the beach you are either on concrete, a golf course, or in a swamp, none of which I care for. Plus, I lost half my look when I moved down here! I haven't been able to rock a leather jacket in like a decade!!! You can always put on a sweater when it's cold, but there's only so much you take off and still go out in public when it's hot!

Where in SW Florida? I live in Naples, work out on Marco Island! Lived in Cape Coral/Ft. Myers when I first moved down here.

How are you wrapping the coils? It would be helpful to answering your question.

As to rebuilding Protank coils....well, I looked at it when I got into RBAs. The thing is, I know that the inlet area is pretty darn restricted, so now that I am using my own coils on an RBA, why bother? I mean, when I can just get another RSST for 30 bucks (and I keep doing just that), and the area I have to work in is like a gymnasium compared to the little Protank space....so I just sort of quit on the Protanks. I keep meaning to rebuild one with mesh, since I am pretty convinced the issue with the low wattage limitation is the silica wicks they come with. But it just looks like such a PIA to deal with, I find some excuse not to.

Sad, but true.

I tried rebuilding my Protanks, and it was okay, but you are right, just as easy to rebuild an RSST, and a much better vape at the end, at least in my opinion. Still use my carto's too, especially for out and about, but I seem to having bad luck with the last couple batches I've gotten. Gonna try Ikenvape as soon as they restock, see if theirs are a little more consistent. I've heard good things.
