Hi again, lovie doves~

After DPL and I spoke at length about Gin's passing, we did get some more information that was truly sensitive, and sharable.

Jackie sent us Gin's obit, and later said that it was fine to share it with the Provi thread, knowing that all of you are/were his buds.

She appreciates that so much (that we were his friends), and also felt so appreciative that we hung out with him throughout his ordeal. She wanted everyone to know that GIN also appreciated it - to his core! <3

With that said, we're sharing the obituary with you. You can definitely feel free to add a few words and sentiments to the guestbook. I think you'll see some familiar names there.

With love to Gin, to you all, and to all that we've created here~~~

KD and DPL~

I cycle down these rail trails in Western MA, as i did today, and see squirrels (and chipmunks and turtles and Great blue Heron...)
Seeing all those squirrels won't be exactly the same.
I think of him every time my dog chases after one!

This Memorial Day is particularly poignant for a variety of reasons (none to be mentioned here). Regardless, my Inbox was graced with something a bit timely, and a bit special, and I'm choosing to share it here. It's music, so it fits (IMO).

"Never forget", pretty much covers it, and thank you, @Katdarling for sending it. Struck a chord, it did. <3

And one more, directly to the point of the weekend & pursuing holiday. Again, "Never forget."

Hey all,

I bring news from the great state of Michigan. Forgive me for not having tracked too closely lately, but I'm not sure if this will be meaningful for everyone here, but I know that it will be for many.

Our longtime friend, @coldgin96 , bringer of life, laughter, and music scores unparalleled, has indeed passed on. I know that we all knew it was coming, but it's still never easy to hear.

Everyone here knows the name Jackie, and she did offer up the following comment. Knowing Gin as we did, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that he wanted us to know this information.
"He did not however pass from the COVID19 virus, it was the IPF. Now he is at peace."

I expect that I speak for most of us when I say that his suffering was too long, and I'm glad that he's been freed from it. That doesn't make it any less sad, of course.

Gin will be missed, for sure. His wit, sometimes biting humor, and certainly his appreciation of music, connecting with many of us on a variety of levels. He was as much a part of this crazy cast of characters as anyone, and ingrained in the very fabric of ProVarinati concept, culture, and life.

I've shared with you all that I know, and can only ask that we find room to keep Jackie in our thoughts and prayers.

Here's to Gin, and to Jackie, and all the fun, all the life, and all of the memories. I can think of no more appropriate way to close this message than with a song. A most appropriate one at that.

Godspeed, Gin, and thanks for all that you brought to this great & wonderful place. We will miss you.

I have not been on ECF in so long but was thinking of Gin today and decided to get on ECF and say hi to him. And then I found this post. He was so kind and sweet to me when I found out I was sick at the end of 2018. I reached out to him and he eased my fears about my pulmonary issues.
I regret that I haven't been here for him like he was here for me. Gin will always be dear to my heart and even though I can't stop crying right now I know he is no longer suffering. My heart and soul go out to his family.
There are members here that will remain with me forever even though I haven't been around. Gin was an inspiration to me. He was always a bright light and a friend to so many.
Gin will always be loved and I will miss him forever
