True Gennie attie enthusiasts hate people like me, I hog out the wick hole to a larger diameter, and build a more typical closer wound coil and wick mine with cotton. I align the coil so it sits in line with the air hole. When the cotton gets gunked up I pull it up a bit and snip it off, and use a pin to create a channel in the center of it and give it good contact with the coil. I align the air hole with the button, so the coil and wick are fully submerged when taking a pull on it while thumb firing the mod. I use a three ml syringe with the needle size supplied to fill it, as the three ml syringe seems to afford more authority in getting the eliquid into the resivoir. They can be finicky, working fine for hours on end and then suddenly give me that awful acrid dry hit. I love the flavor and smooth taste that the ZAPs give me, and when properly dialed in, there is not a better topper to be had. When things go badly, I make a really ugly face in contortions from the most unpleasant experience on earth...it's a love hate thing.Continued to use the ZA-U on the Procyon today as the new mesh and coil settle in. Taste has improved. More mellow.
The draw is kind of quirky. It likes a cigar like draw as Zen pointed out in his video ... but that's a little quirky for this MTLer. So ya know what, I decided to try the boost feature on the Procyon. I'd never felt a need to use boost on a Kabuki with a modern drop in coil, but wanted to try it on the ZA-U to see if I could get a nice normal MTL draw similar to a drop in coil. SOooo ... 1.8@7.2 and Boost #2 ... that's the sweet spot for me going in. So dang good.
Some of you guys have been using or have used the Z Atty for several years and have your preferences dialed in ... or moved on long ago. I'm still working on it ... but think I found it. I get it !!! Hints, tips, shared experience appreciated. And again a special thank you to @Zen Knitter for "leading a horse to water" and sharing preference and experience. Much appreciated.
