Well, Bill said since my two Ps I sent him were generally working he did a complete cleaning inside and went ahead and rebuilt both with a new switch & window.

And @coldgin96, NO, he didn't say anything about the springs :p:D:rolleyes::). But I did buy a few to have…just in case…while they're still available.

When Provape was going away and had all those sales, I bought a bunch of springs. Beats me why. I've never had to replace one yet.
If anyone is desperate for a spring let me know.

I've had to replace a few, they can get funky and loose if you do the stretch trick on them, and some of the older ones I have have become corroded, or lost the silver plating, causing batteries to show empty before they actually are. YMMV, I don't change them till they go bad for these mentioned reasons, but I have had to change some...maybe I just have too many ProVari's lol, got lots of springs in the stash too :)

Smart...stocking up on parts. I only had to R&R one Radius.btw-two radius babies came home to Mama today from Bills talented hands, Id sent off for R&R but not springs. It took all <2minutes to thread on kabukis, load in batts and back to my ADVs as if Id never missed a beat.
Sweet to see top connect pins shiny gold clean anew.
What other parts beside springs.?

Time to rotate back out of P3, ZNA, let them take a breather. My worst fear is simply storing PVs idle w/out use.
My first ProVari repairs! -not enough words for appreciation. The original pre order Burgandy Radius really has miles on her! Id venture a guess shes well over 100th birthday in human years.
Anyone remember the month/year they were announced? I only recall it mightve been near the holiday season?

Really ppl? Is there another company on world stage that will service/repair PVs after years of daily use?
(OK, Im sure Zen would too). Kinda like renewing vows or something...hehe for ProVari.

(PS Enaud
Far to many short band types, itd be another thread at least)
Cheers.

My parts bin includes P3 adaptors and rings, and lots of V2.5'sq...I bought some at the end thinking they could be used as a source for parts in case something ever happened to one of my Titanium ProVaries.

Multiple Ti provaries! How cool :)

My hubs said kind of the same thing…after a few stretches while they lose their "memory".

I have read several posts by various people with this concern over storing PV's for the future. I'm trying to understand why this concern exists? I have some electronic devices that are 30 to 40 years old that are still functioning. I have read that OLED displays have something like a ten year shelf life so the later generation devices may be of long term concern regarding that, but what about the VV devices, with the LED displays? ProVape claimed to build their PV's to MIL SPEC standards, shouldn't they have a similar survival rate or better than , say, a Sony Walkman?

This teaser vid was published Oct 2 2015, Official ProVari Radius Thread

looks like Oct 13 pre-orders were announced.

I'm with you. The stuff should last longer than we do.

I actually have one of these made by Texas Instruments 1954. It works just as good now as it did then.

I'm not as old as that thing but it's no guarantee I'll turn on.

I have a Zenith on from 1964 too. Works great. And it got the hell beat out of while I spent five summers working on a golf stuff. Most of the old stuff--and ProVaris too--are tanks. I'm not worried. They all outlast me.

I'm thinking that OLED devices will be my ones to use when not using a ProVari over the next decade or so. Should the displays start failing I'll still have plenty of ProVaris and mechs. I'd miss the RX75's and Vaporflasks for their hand feel, but most all of my OLED devices were pretty cheap and won't break my heart if they fail.

Pretty likely I'll be on the second ProVari from the stockpile around the time the OLED's die. I couldn't imagine a better safety net.
