Oh yeah, that 18350 Vapcell IS a flat top. DOH !!! shoot ... nevermind
That was the main reason I grabbed a couple few of the Classics and P3's when the prices dropped through the floor, future proofing, it was obvious to me that flat tops had become the norm...

If need be in the future, I will have no fear modifying my beloved ProVies to keep them firing, no matter how drastic that modification may be.

I did see reference to someone saying they had a button top version in the Mooch thread...wonder who has those? The poster stated they inspected the cell and the button was spot welded onto the cell...

If the only 18350 ProVari I could vape was a flat top in a Classic ... I'd be okay. Disappointed ... a bit ... but okay.
V2.5... Brass rod...slice off very thin piece...solder to center pin...vape on.

At the time of that review and bench test, which was only month before last ... Mooch didn't even know who might end up selling the Vapcell 18350s. Maybe more vendors will start popping up and have both button and flat. Heck, I haven't even checked to see if Liion might have both when I posted that link. I'm not really shopping 18350s yet and wasn't paying a lot of attention I guess.

When our stashes of cells start getting old, we will all be searching for ones that will fit our needs, been that way since the beginning, and will be that way going forward, lucky us to have a place to share our finds and fixes right here on this wonderful forum :)

And I hope you'll share that info. Because like you and @Hobbs My minis are my favorites. I have two 2.5s and plenty of extensions to turn minis and 2.5s into 18650 users but I wouldn't like it.

I'm fairly confident that button top 18650s will be fine, as much as some of you might hate adding an inch to your mods. I've got those types of cells in a BUNCH of vape-unrelated things, particularly RIGID tools, of which they sell a ton.

I can't imagine the world will stop turning simply because The United States of Mary Poppins lost its mind.

Time, it shall tell...

Over at Liion Wholesale, they recommend Vapecell 18350 as a replacement for the discontinued (and well thought of?) Aspire 18350. I don't have any experience with the Vapecell or know who makes them, but may be worth a look, dunno ... If this link is against the rules, please delete post. Thanks !!! ... Vapcell 18350 10A Flat Top 1100mAh Battery - Genuine

EDIT: Here's Mooch's review and bench test results from May 2018. I think I'd go with these if I were looking for 18350s right at this moment. He deemed them accurately rated ... Bench Test Results: Vapcell Purple 10A 1100mAh 18350...accurately rated

RTD has both the flat top and button top Vapecells, although the picture for both products seems to show the flat top.

That inch makes a huge difference in the weight distribution / balance of my ProVi tubes when riding in their nylon belt sheath... In the 350 mode the mod stays in place no matter what I am doing, getting in and out of cars, doing stuff around the house, etc...in 18650 mode there were several times where my mod went slapping down onto tile floors, got hooked on something while working outside and pulled apart a Nautilus tank. I've been wearing this same holster for well about four years now, and have never had an issue in 350 mode. So yup...an inch can make a big difference.

I only have P3s.
I run them in mini and maxi mode (18350 and 18650).
So flat or button works for me.

I don''t care what anyone says the chromoly, lugged frame bikes look a thousand times better than the fat tube welded jobs they sell now. Smart purchase.
Well hi there! Yeah, when we first started talking about bikes, I went up into the city of Raleigh and visited a shop I found online, they are a performance shop, and to be honest, not one single bike in there was remotely interesting to me, all carbon fiber, and pretty much everything waaaaay out of our price range. I was like, what in the world happened while I was not looking?

Going used I got into three bikes, a 1992 Trek 800 mountain track, a 1995 Trek 370 Sport road bike, this one needed a lot of work to it, and the 1981 Austro Daimler, all for quite a bit less than what I was seeing entry level bikes selling for, I enjoy working on stuff so this has been fun, and rewarding in a couple different ways. Actually, two of the three I bartered for with things I was no longer interested in, so really short money in the end...
