The lung injury epidemic was the triple whammy, and the conflation of vaping with the other stuff was like a mule kick. I had always hoped that more folks in the medical fields would start to realize that we got this all wrong in the USA. I still believe that eventually they will, if the British model is a success story. Public opinion could be changed via the media, and policy could be changed if enough people cared...but that might take years, we got months left.

THIS THIS THIS. SO this.

Thanks, E.

I don't possess almonds or walnuts or even brazil nuts, but I do agree with you and have for some time. So does the leader of my pack, the Dp of L.

In time perhaps, people will regain their brainpower and their logistical capabilities rather than fight for the might to be right.

Til then, we enjoy the stock.

I started to write "the worst thing" but realized there are so many illogical and harmful things going on that it's impossible to pick a winner.

But what's really frustrating for me is that there doesn't seem to be a clear way to counter this crazy campaign. I am definitely not a one issue voter but if there is any decision to be made, a representative who might support us would get my vote. But I DON"T KNOW WHO THAT WOULD BE!

The blitzkrieg assault on public opinion is so deep and so strong right now I don't think there's a single politician who'd publically oppose the half truths, lies, and general madness. The best outcome I've seen so far is them simply not making any comment - which right now is a sad, but real, victory

Personal emails to all my reps resulted in replies; some pretty quick and some which took weeks. ALL of them were variations on "thanks for staying in touch" after a cut and paste of some sort of "vaping kills" and "we must save the children" boilerplate. I would seriously think that if anyone even read them, it was the most junior aide or unpaid intern.

Add in the fact that two of the replies were word-for-word exactly the same but came from two different House Representatives. We're coming up on an election, which always has politicians going into overdrive in pandering to any warm body they think might vote for them. Still, no one seems to care and that's depressing.

As others have mentioned, I think we'll all still be able to vape but life for us is going to be very different.

Illegal vapes can be traced back to this California woman, one of the pioneers of CBD

Why are these stories buried??

ETA: I originally saw the article before work on either CNN, or Fox...then couldn't find it. Had to do a general search, and it wasn't even one of the first to show up...

It was on the main page of the Associated Press site this morning.

I guess I'm all gloom and doom today but it struck me that the piece was focused on dangerous synthetic weed chems which will make you hallucinate or worse, but generally won't kill the user. It avoided the uproar that is collecting clicks on hundreds of sites.

It would have been oh so easy to connect this story to the lethal oils that ARE killing people, but the author didn't make the effort.

Or was told not to...

I always laughed at tin foil hats and conspiracy nuts, but things seem to be different now.

It's just shameful what's going on in the press.
Shameful.

Thyroid doc has been trying to kill me ever since she did not like my "decades stable" numbers (endocrinologist approved no less.) Jesus.
You might try the emergency room. I've gone there before to get thyroid medication.
