There is just something so great about that horse with no-name song. IDK what it is....

Man 4 am feels so right for like the first half of the day. By this time, I just want to go back and punch 4 am right in the face.

I'm fairly certain there's a poem in there someplace but right now I am busy being mad at the dog.

The husband keeps coming and consoling it.

I don't know how long the husband has been feeding it human food but YESTERDAY the damn thing was licking the floor. It's not that big a floor but the dog is also small and it was GROSS... the husband was encouraging it by placing, with care, the dog's food and water RIGHT where my yoga mat goes when I stand on my head.

I pointed out to the husband I was neither willing NOR capable of like, picking bits of dog food out of my hair RIGHT before I get dressed, usually in a rush for work, and I made him move it.

I bet my hair is still full of dog spit however.....

I am buying a tiny padlock with a tiny key and LOCKING the dog in his cage during dinner. The mostly empty food bowls can go in the cage, with the dog. I am putting the padlock where the husband will NEVER dare look for it without my consent.

Yeah, there is definitely a poem in here somewhere, and it could wind up funny.

The best dogs are the ones that NEVER get the sweet, sweet taste of human food. I don't even think it is health (although the dog also has a giant WART at the moment-- I SORT of non ironically suggested the husband get some compound W for it;--"He could lick THAT too! Well don't it's probably poisonous, but we could see I guess...."-- warty dog spit hair.

Yep. I feel like such a lucky woman at the moment.:lol::lol:

We need a house. A house for a dog to have his own um. heated outbuilding. At night.

LOL Jim,

I had something WORSE. A pet loving kid. At one point he "owned" a ferret. I was so happy when that sucker ran away I suggested we MOVE. I was not kidding either ferrets are smart I was scared it would find it's way back somehow. So we had lots of pets. This dog is actually an outdoors dog he was found wandering the desert all feral and stuff, and some strange part of me thought "well an adult dog will be easier than a puppy at least."

How little I knew. But right now we are in an apartment a lot. You have to take him out to pee all the time. He still pees inside every now and then but less than I imagined.

IDK my husband is a sort of outdoors person so he and the dog kind of bonded. Since, ah, the youth so kindly left him for us after he decided to move to a place and well, his time will come to be back outdoors.

I don't mind, except when the child critiques the caretaking which is usually when I want to take the pair of them by the scruff of the necks and shake them.

This dog was never designed to be an inside dog because most of his shrill, whiny behaviors can be totally ignored.

Balance will be restored but man the wart-- he is LICKING it so much we may need to go to the vet.

Mrs CMD and I went to an outdoor concert when we lived in Baltimore because I always liked America [and 'Horse with no Name']. It was the very early '90's. I learned that some things are best left only as memories. They were long past prime.

I always hated that song/group. So whiny, should have been 'a group with no song.'

There is no accounting for differences in taste. I always felt the same about "Bread" from around the same time. But at the time, I was young strong pursuing the fairer sex (is that still a permissible phrase?), and almost every girl I knew swooned over their 'sensitivity' so, I was most diplomatic and remained silent.

I always liked their music, and a bit of back story. I grew up around a mile from where I now live. There was a movie theater within walking distance from home. Then some time when I was a teen, the theater closed and was turned in to a place for live bands. There were two shows there that were kind of shocking at the time, One was America, and the other was Greg Almond. Two fantastic shows that were 2 blocks from my house. At the end of the America show we got to meet them outside. It was awesome, now that theater is a Ace Hardware. :|
