Jeremy, just follow the directions exactly. I showed everything I did - no bending or folding off camera. Cut the straw to about 15mm (1/4"), notch it, put it into the cart all the way. It's probably about even with or a little taller than the inside ledges. Then use the tweezers, as shown, to push the PTB in. Then simply trim it flush with the cart and spread out the layers.
Well, I got all my supplies today to try this cart mod right now. I'll post in a little while about how it's going.
thanks, Kristin.

Update: Well, so far so good! vaping right now, testing, testing, 123...:) Added 14 drops of my juice, low-resistance atty, and we'll see. As long as it doesn't leak all over or stop wicking, I'll be thrilled. The tea is good too! Saving the loose tea for steeping later.

Update: Ok. Also trying it on my GGSuperSlim w/ High Voltage 901 Atty, and seems to be doing fine. Still able to get in lots of juice, not flooding atty so far as I can tell. This may be the one. So far, so good.....:)

Just a tip: the box looks bigger in the pic than actual life - if this is a 20 bag count box! LOL
I finally found mine after searching two stores. I knew if anyone would have it, Woodmans would, since they carry EVERYTHING. I bet I scanned the shelves no less than 10+ times before I finally noticed them, mainly 'cause they were a lot smaller than what I was expecting.
The front of the box I got was slightly smaller than 4x4inches showing. For some reason, I had it in my mind it should have been bigger! LOL
It placement on the shelf was higher than the other Lipton tea; more of a 'premium' space.

As for my review: WOW! I've been doing this for a little over 2 weeks now and so far, and the only complaint is my inability to not poke a hole in the bottom - initially. I finally wised up and fixed that problem by finding the center, using something very blunt & putting it in the straw BEFORE placing the straw in the cart.
I had been using the Fluval foam bricks for almost a year now and it was always such a pain trying to cut them the right size.

To be honest, I thought there was no way something this easy could be so effective. I love it when I'm wrong ;)
I use the 901/whistle tips on my 510/eGo. With Fluval, I could only put 6 drops in when dry; with PTB, I can do 10+ when I start to "feel the heat" and know that it's dried out.

Now, Kristen, your job is to create an 801 size cart that works on an 510!! LOL

Thank you for sharing this with the world!

You're welcome! It was really inspired by the work of a lot of ECF members, lol!

I bolded part of your statement - I swear that is the reason not as many people are trying this. They think it's TOO easy to work, lol!

I have been trying a variation of this mod today (straw length about 1.6 cm and PTB plug length approx 1.2 cm). After vaping about 2 ml of juice (approx 8 drops per cart) I can say the results are very good.

In comparison to other mods that I have used, PTB Straw Mod - PTB Made Easy is by far the best I have used to date.

The mod is delivering very good wicking, flavour, vapor and TH. All in all this mod provides a very enjoyable vaping experience. Most importantly, PTB does not exhibit the characteristic 'weird filler taste propagating to the juice taste'. And the bonus: The mod is fairly easy to implement and tweaking it is minimal.

I tried four prepared cart mods with four different types of juices, some pre-made, some DIY. Seems to work well with any type of juice. I had one cart mod filled with a DIY juice and I got flooding. I tried the same cart mod (refilled it with the same juice) using a different atty and it worked just fine. Needless to say this atty is now in atty hell.

When I first started vaping I tried PTB and stopped using it, I do believe that this mod was not available at that time.

Thanks Kristin. This mod is my newest best friend.

REVIEW: This has been working really great for the last 24 hrs!! Which is a long time for me to get something to go well. I seem to be trying to over fill the carts though and get a little flooding, but I'll fix that. Everytime I fill, I vape it till it's dry and not burnt taste, no issues, the fabric is stronger than it appears. I'm using a fingernail cuticle stick to push it in, sort of like a large toothpick. Not really measuring anything, just cutting straws and the tea bags cut in half. Trim off the leftover. That's it. Doesn't burn, the atty pushes it into place and you can fluff it up again later if needed. I can also see rinsing and re-using the fabric since it appears durable. I even made tea and used those bags after rinsing. Now if I can just get the carts filled and able to store without leaking, I'll be in heaven. I've found my favorite menthol juice flavor, the V4L Smilin' Menthol, adding a few drops of extra menthol until my new menthol crystals arrive. Also ordered 12 drams of Lorann's to try and they arrived today. So this is the mod I will continue to use. Going to stock up on tea bags. On sale at my store for $2.99 a box. That's 40 liners per box, and washable. I'm also allowing juice to go all around the straw, not really aiming in the center per say. Working like a charm.

You know the best thing about this mod is that it works. The second best thing about this mod is the Tea...its fantastic.
Right?? I bought tea that most closely matched my main vapes - Vanilla Carmel Truffle for the Nhaler French Vanilla Coffee and Mango Peach for the Nhaler Peaches and Cream! :D

(I've heard the berry flavor stays in the material and affects the eliquid flavor.)

Updated Review: This is still working really, really well. I got better straws today, by which I mean closer in size to the one's in your pics. The ones I purchased a couple days ago were just a hair too small in diameter. I found some at the food cart at my job, so I grabbed a few with my purchase and they are better. Fill out the entire cart. But even the slightly smaller ones still allowed for proper wicking anyway with this fabric tea bag material. So this is what I am sticking with now. I feel confident to make up a bunch ahead of time. I wasn't pleased enough with the blue foam mod to do that before. Thank you for the advice and this mod. It's doing perfectly. Especially with my 7.2V GGSuperSlim and my fav menthol juice, I'm very happy. Other than dropping my KR808 battery in my iced tea bottle today, I'm still pretty happy!! And you can rinse these and reuse indefinitely. I even made tea and just rinsed that bag out after the leaves dried! No point wasting them.

And like you said, Kristin, I even cut the straw a little shorter than I had before and it still is working fine. Just rigid enough to stay up but still mold slightly to the atty bridge. Great idea.

not sure if this question has been asked already but here goes: if the straw is too wide in diameter, is it ok to cut it vertically and roll tighter, so it fits the cart?

thx :)

Pretty sure you have to exactly follow the OP instructions otherwise the mod won't work properly.

Just kidding :), your modification to the straw won't make any difference, in my case it did not.

I have used different modifications of this mod and anything I have done works just fine. The important thing with this mod is the section that describes folding of the PTB and insertion into the cart. Works like a charm, IMHO best cart mod around.
