So far I'm really happy with this mod! I'm now using the actual PTB plug I made in the demo and it's working even better than the first one I was using. The cool thing is that it still works well after being pushed back a bit by the atty. And it's consistantly refilling with 10-12 drops, so it's vaping pretty dry before needing a refill!

I think that it has a lot of the properties of the BP plug, having the "channels" and the "point" at the end to direct the liquid to the atty - almost like a backwards funnel. Since most of the material is at the atty end and not in the bottom of the cart, there isn't anywhere for the liquid to get "stuck" in the cart. It actually uses less PTB material than other PTB mods, because you trim a lot of the piece away, rather than rolling the whole thing into the cart, so more room for liquid. I also love that it's so darned easy to make, refill and clean! We may have hit on something here!

Mumble.. grumble.... pout.

I'd have to adapt it to the 901 cartridge ya know.....

(Just when I got myself down to a comfortable 4ml a day...)

There shouldn't be much to adapt? Is the 901 just longer and more narrow? It should still work. You may not need the straw, if it's more narrow.

if i were to try this with a cart from a sidesho...
any thoughts on what i would use for the straw?
i believe a regular straw would be too wide for the cart
thanks
What cart do you use for a Sideshow? Is it adapted for a 510, 901, 801? You could try Scottyballs version, with the coffee straw. I use a grocery store straw, because restaurant straws (like McDonald's) are too big for the 510. It's ok to squish the straw a bit, to get it ito the cart.

OK, then there is less room taken up by the straw - makes sense. Do you fill liquid first and then add the plug? Does the liquid wick up the center of the straw, then into the plug? Or does it flow around the straw, into the plug? Do you need to remove the plug for refills? (One of my goals was to not have to remove the plug for refills.)

I thought about using a micro screwdriver, too - good call!

Do you think the fraying is necessary? Is the plug not wide enough on it's own?

Do you fill liquid first and then add the plug? no filled with plug in.

Does the liquid wick up the center of the straw, then into the plug? im sure some dose wick up threw the straw but I think most of the juce just gos around..
Do you need to remove the plug for refills? no..

Do you think the fraying is necessary? for mine I think so the first one I did was having some slight leaking the one that I frayed and poofed out did not.. works pretty good I let you know tomarrow i have to work a 12 hours and I vape alot more at work..

One piece. Save the other for another cart!

? Ya gota fix the instructions.. no details for the PTB.. all i could tell was that you riped it open and just put the pointy object in the bottom middle of the closed end of the TB and just shoved it into the straw.

I did it that way and it sucked. Way too much material in the cart and many many areas for the juice to collect and hold.

Nope.. the 901 has a larger reservoir... wider, not narrower. It is "D" shaped with only one air passage on one side.... See:

The straw should help then? I have to squish my straw a bit to get it into the 510 - it ends up eliptical. Maybe the McDonald's size straw would fit better?

LOL! Not sure how you got that from the instructions! Did you read the photo captions? You need to cut the PTB into 2 pieces. Then center a SINGLE piece on a point, like a flower upsidedown on a stem, and push it into the cart. If you're using the whole, uncut tea bag, that is way too much material and yes, it would hold the liquid.

Thanks for editing it. Yeah i guess i was looking for the instructions for the PTB where the pic was for it and where you inserted it into the straw. Didnt expect the info for it to be above the pic for the info on cutting the straw.

Try it again while my 8 month old sleeps.. I hate messing with the Tea bags though.. having to go empty the damn thing everytime i use one sucks the big one hehe.
