Warning Labels are not Intended to Prevent People, Children or Pets from being Poisoned.

They are there to Minimize the Civil Suit Pay Outs when a Person, Child or Pet Does get Poisoned.

You mean the dog would have eaten it anyway?? Even with the warning label??? Well.......you learn something new every day

While I wouldn't argue that liability isn't the likely, primary, motivation for warning labels, I like to think that there may be some secondary motivation that deals with public safety. I just have a hard time being quiet that cynical.

Obviously, dogs don't read, but there's a least a slight chance that if there was a warning label, the owner might have been more diligent in the safe storing of his juice.

Pets and children are poisoned all the time from nic gum, patches, and the inhalers. Why would ejuice be any different?

Now in this article, I recall the guy said, "What if it had been a child?" And the story said that the puppy had actually chewed up the clearomizer. So I get this terrible visual of a child with fangs gnawing through things and think wow such a child would likely gnaw through all kinds of containers even if they were leakproof and childproof.

Unfortunately, some people take it for granted that some products can kill something much smaller than them. I'm sorry for the puppy that the owner did not have the knowledge of the affects of what nicotine can do if improperly used, in this case accidental and carelessness. I have a 2 year and I keep my entire e-cig product up high out of her reach, but reading this I'm taking additional measures to ensure she or my other 2 furry babies don't fall into a statistic.

This is really really sad.

I work in rescue, some people should not own pets. It scares me that they have children if they can't care for a puppy.

You really can't leave ANYTHING laying around, with puppies or human toddlers in the house.

RIP lil' pup, you sure deserved better. :(

many are great people that unfortunately learn these lessons the hard way :(

Careless people usually DO learn the hard way. Unfortunately, they often harm other beings in the process.

Milk chocolate doesn't have enough cocoa in it to poison a dog, depending on how much he eats. However, the dark chocolate with high amount of cocoa does. If your dog tends to get into your chocolate stash, I'd steer clear of the dark chocolate.

That's exactly what I learned in my panic google search. Fortunately my gf doesn't buy much dark chocolate and I think she's getting the idea that the dog has a sweet tooth. It's also an advantage and disadvantage that he's a golden doodle weighing in at over 100 lbs with a good range when nosing around.

You might be On to Something here Vocalek.

Asparagus Flavored Warning Labels.

I love asparagus LOL

Some dogs will eat anything including asparagus. My gud gud gud boi (RIP) once stole two loaves of bread dough that were rising on the stovetop and it nearly killed him (from the expansion of the dough in his stomach, and also the alcohol that is produced in the rising process). Immediately to the emergency vet - they made him throw up and then fed him a ton of activated charcoal. We were lucky that none of the dough made it further than his stomach.

I didn't have a news team at my door talking about how we should ban bread dough.

There ought to be a sticky here at ECF that every member needs to read and agree to before they can become a member of ECF.

Maybe there is. My apologies if one exists already.. I joined so many years ago now I don't remember. :)

Caution: e-liquids can kill your pets and children..

I think the danger to children is overblown. There are extremely few deaths from nicotine, adults or children. We're talking like one or two a year. And most of those are suicides.
