Hey, Folks. Got my Sole today and have spent a few hours getting to know it. First, the positives. Although I haven't really been drawn to this style, I think it's a pretty nice-looking PV. I love the color (I got the red), and its shape and size give it a sort of elegance. It's comfortable to hold, and I like the large, concave button. The tank is easy to fill, the mouthpiece is much more comfortable than I thought it would be, and the flavor is surprisingly good. Now if only ...

Here are the negatives: The obvious one is the charger - that pin's gotta go. My first thought was to charge the battery on a wall wart plugged into a power strip so that could sit upright on the pin, but that wouldn't be a very true-to-life test for me. Aside from the fact that it would mean crawling under my desk 2 or 3 times a day, in "real life," I just wouldn't use anything that required that kind of delicate handling (I wouldn't use it for long, anyway). Between the clumsiness and the ADD, my gear has to be able to withstand a certain amount of banging around and haphazard treatment, and that would include charging the batt at whatever source was handy at the moment. So instead of the power strip, I plugged it into my laptop and just let it sort of sag over the side. The fact that the pin didn't snap off was surprising, but not particularly encouraging; it will happen.

The other negative is the power. For all the juice-hogginess of the tank, the vapor was not great and I got almost no throat hit using 18 mg, 65/35 PG/VG juice. Maybe the ohm rating for the tank is too high, but the batt just didn't have enough punch to be satisfying.

Bottom line: For me, the negatives outweigh the positives. I really do like the look of it, but the vape just doesn't suit me, and sooner or later (but probably sooner), I WILL break it.

For those of you who might like a USB adapter, Amazon has some fairly cheap. I only shop Prime stuff, so there might be a better deal on there. I just feel more secure getting Prime. This one's actually sold by Amazon, not any of their partners or another seller. It's $6 Amazon.com: AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (9.8 Feet/3.0 Meters): Electronics

That's a pretty darn decent length which would make it great for using the Sole as a pass through! It would also relieve stress on the pin because you can just lay the e-cig down. Might not be a perfect solution or as good as having it pointing straight up, but there it is anyway. Plus, a 5 star rating out of 264 reviews ain't bad at all!

Okay, in regards to Alpha products dropping. If we wanted to get it on Saturday, they needed to drop yesterday morning/afternoon. So, as long as it drops before the Monday shipping window of time closes, I'll be happy. If it doesn't, I'll be sad.

Chris, thank you for updating us in a timely manner, I really truly very much appreciate it. I'll probably chill for a while once I get that PV I'm looking forward to so much as it's the itch I haven't been able to scratch since you teased us with it many moons ago. I'll bug Dan from now on since he's not only in charge of shipping, he's also putting the stuff up on the site.

Dan, I appreciate the time you put into all of this. If I can help in any way, let me know! I have a fairly decent amount of knowledge when it comes to CSS/html at this point, though I'm still learning. I'd be more than happy to if it means getting things out faster and meeting the release dates y'all give us. My going rate is 1 Phoenix per hour

Or, ya know, put Kiki to work ;)

Thanks for the link. Love me some Amazon Prime :)

Please come organize my e-cig drawers!! They're horrific  Actually, that's on the list for me to do today...

Good luck getting into the program, sounds like you have the right attitude about it :)

Thanks! Problem is, I wouldn't stop at your e-cig drawers! I'd end up organizing your closets, pantry, cupboards, etc etc

And yes, I DO drive my family crazy at times with my "everything has a place and there is a place for everything" attitude. ;o) I'm also a germ-a-phobe which is particularly fun out here in the country breeding German Shepherds. Our kennels are so nice the people around here think we're nuts for all the money and trouble we go through to make sure our furkids are happy. LOL

Hope this works. This is Bandit and Bama. I snapped the pic and captioned it (I love photography and graphic editing). Bandit is a blue sable and Bama is a blue blanket back. She was the pick female from our last litter and he is from a breeder I've known for many years in Kansas. Hopefully in 2014 sometime they'll make beautiful babies ;)

Seriously, guys, Dan is doing the best he can. Got a lot of orders all in a bunch in the last couple of days, a huge number of boxes to unpack, and other stuff he absolutely has to do. Not enough hours in the day. He only sleeps, like, 4 hours. He'll do it as fast as he possibly can. :)

 Surely you didn't take me literally. I totally hope he can get some chill out time, I understand he's swamped with this sudden bombardment of goodies. I even offered to help if there's any way I can at all. :(

Review: SOLE (White)

The Good:
I love the size of this thing. The finish has a great feel to it, it is kinda soft and has a bit of a grip to it.
5-click on/off is a great way to ensure it doesn't miss fire in your pocket.
Blue LED with White cover looks great.
Very easy to fill and use. So far no issues with my 70/30 Cinnabun. Taste is pretty much the same on my provari dialed in at the same settings.
Battery Connection is solid and appears to have no way to leak into the button / battery area.

The Bad:
I find that there is a lot lacking with this device, however they are mostly very easy to fix.

No Instructions on how to use, power on/off, change cartos, recommended charge time etc.
Charger - Pin - Very Bad Idea and VERY Fragile
The carto in the tank appears to be slanted to the left. I don't have any leaks or issues with mine but could be a problem with others making a seal with the cap.

Recommended Changes:
Change the charging method, Micro USB is most likely the best bet as it will still be small enough to fit easily. The Mini USB will be too big I think for the casing.

Add instruction sheet.

Changing to a non-proprietary cartridge system. (I saw if goes to production going to possibly a 510, This is great BUT I think it will have to be an adapter or not have to have the battery connector so recessed.)

Oh to add to this, Not really an "Issue" but I guess could be for some of the thicker juices there is very little space between the carto and the wall on the flat side. So I often see one side has high level of fluid and almost none on the other side. A quick turn to the side resolves that but could potentially be an issue maybe?

No worries. :) Just an excuse to prevent general discontent. lol Sorry, I shouldn't have used your quote - it didn't quite come our right.

So let me apologize in advance for this senseless post, but I couldn't resist :) I will do a proper Alpha review later. I just got my Sole along with all the other missing packages :toast:
So here is my question and the point of this post. How am I supposed to get my face that close to the USB port to vape the Sole? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I mean am I supposed to pick up my whole desktop and press the fire button at the same time? Seems like they are asking a lot of a guy who has a bad back.

Yes you need to plug it into the laptop to use it, then pickup the whole laptop, put the sole to your lips and vape. Please post pics so we can make sure you have the proper form.

My wife doesn't let me use her laptop, so I have to lift up my 25lb desktop..... I think this is a 2 person vaporizer
