Norman, Ok
I was thinking we'd had some kanger items in alpha, but I may be confusing it. I'd love to see just the tanks also.

You are correct... the Kanger T1 went through alpha. Kanger already had a pretty good name for their filler type cartos... I believe the T1 was one of their first types of wicked clearo's to come out... so Chris and Dan thought it was wise to test them first. The T2 came just a little later and has replaceble heads ( the T1 didn't have those )...

X6 TANK

OK, as a DISPOSABLE this is a nice product. Decent vape, good flavor. I understand that these were supposed to have removable tanks (or were thought to have), but even if it did, these would be one of the poorest designed devices I have ever tried, and I have tried some doozies!

Sure, it looks nice and I like the removable top and ability to use any drip tip, but replacing the heads is next to impossible without destroying the wicks. I pulled the original head off for some preventative cleaning and destroyed the replacement before I had 2 wicks in. And I was using a blunt toothpick! I might rebuild it with some cotton and see if it can hold up to being prodded into the hole.

Whoever thought this design was a good idea needs to be slapped on the tush! I'd rather rebuild old-school Stardusts all day long than try to re-assemble this thing! It's....bad, just bad. And even if the tank was removable I would say no to main-lining these due to difficulty factor. People would be better off learning how to build a wick and coil on an RBA than to try to maintain this piece.

Well, there. I am done ranting. I was actually looking forward to my day together with the X6, but instead it will be sitting at home while I take anything-other-than-it to work with me.

I did not even think about getting one to test. The design just looked incredibly bad to me.

Couldn't agree more. I got my rants out before it went to Alpha. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/371603-kamry-x6-tank-questions-.....es-whines.html

I had hopes for this one because it resembled the Splitfires and I love those. I filled it out of the box before cleaning and got a strange flavor off it. So I took off the head and cleaned it. There was mild to moderate mangling of the wicks getting them back in. The funny flavor is gone but now I get dry hits (I taste more wick than juice) and the flavor is okay but not as good as in the Splitfire. I've been using a 50/50 juice at 4.2-4.5v.

Some of the problem could be caused by the damage done to the wicks getting them back in, but overall I'll stick with what I've been using. The X6 is just 'meh' for me. And what is up with that black outer o-ring on the cap?

ALPHA - APOLLO E2 6ml TANK Replaceable Tank & Stem/Coil RED [gv-ALPHAApolloTank-RED] - $4.25 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Followup:

So, I was curious... I un-braided the wicks that the coil is wrapped around and gave it another try. I didn't un-braid the smaller wick that is just laying over the top of the atomizer.

It actually seems to be working rather well like this.

I would like to go on record as suggesting that this be referred to as "squiding the wicks" because it sounds awesome.

I've never had a leaker, but I read somewhere in the forums, that if you: remove the base & loosen the center post; warm them in an oven/toaster oven; then crank the center post down, the warmed seal "locks" into the base and solves any leaking issues.
I've never had to do it. Just what I read. So YMMV.

What can I say that hasn't been said... VTF is good all the way around, with the exception of the first half of the first tank. I knew that going in, thanks to everyone's reviews, but, likewise thanks to previous reviewers, I also knew that pre-cleaning and re-assembling would be problematic, so I decided to use it as a 'fill and toss' disposable. It works well, no leaks, no dry hits (I'm vaping 24mg strawberry peach smash), and, oddly designed external o-ring besides, this unit is dead sexy. (methinks the designer may have intended some sort of push on cap, or proprietary tip akin to the C8)

Final judgement: I like the way it looks, I like the way it vapes. As a disposable at a decent price point, I would probably buy a few more, but they would be a definite winner if the top of the tank were removable, ala the splitfire. It doesn't have to break down as much as the splitfire, a sealed bottom would be o.k., as long as I could get to the bottom of the wick platform. (like I said, nothing anyone hasn't said already, just my 2 cents)
