Hi Ken!
Me? Father of 4: 26, 25, 12, 10 - all girls. Married. This time for 13 yrs. 25+ yrs smoking a PAD+. It's been 6 months since I stuck a tobacco stick in my face. :D I'm a firm believer in PIF (whenever I can). Finally convinced my oldest to give vaping a try. We're meeting up tomorrow so I can give her her starter kit & show her "the ropes"... AND picking up the granddaughters. :) I'm hoping that if vaping catches on with her, she'll get her wonderful husband to quit too. I too hand out cards I've gotten from vendors to the truly curious smokers. I've only managed to convert 1 person, but I still try.

I understand about "kissy face" when that's all a thread degenerates into. I've blocked a couple of people because that's ALL they do. That and glittery gifs.

You're a lucky guy. Provari & a Genesis. :thumb:

One of these days... Provari. WILL. be. mine! MWUAHAhahahahaaa!!

TTFN!

p.s. I'm a Ken as well, but nobody's called me that for years.

You guys dont know me yet, and its my fault for not easing my way into your circle. I am a father of 4 kids under 12 married for 14 yrs. O smoked 2+PAD for 17 yrs. I have become an unofficial spokesman for vaping. I carry ECF cards with me everywhere I go. I approach total strangers that are smoking and I whip out my Provari or the like and I take a whack. If they show interest I give them a quick tutorial and a card. I keep this forum and its members close to my heart. This is a life saving device and community we have here, and that is not to be taken lightley, nor do I take it lightley.
I have sent 4 envelopes with wick and mesh to 4 total strangers that I have never even chatted with before, because they had new Genesis devices and could not get wick and wire. I did not ask for anything in return except for them to pay it forward when the opportunity presents itself.
My name is Ken Walker and I am glad to be a part of the GotVapes circle of friends. Please do not ever take anything I say to be disrespectfull, abrasive or rude. Sometimes I may cross the line a bit when joking around, but thats just because I feel like we are all 1 big family.
If anybody needs anything from me please just ask.
Thanks,
Ken

Nice to meet ya Ken!
And you as well.

OP Briar
Hey, Ken - great to "really" meet you.

I think some folks didn't understand that you were kidding around, is all. I think you fit right in. You might want to stick an indication that you are kidding in with the joke - that way no-one will get confused. Like the tongue or something. It's the same old thing - writing is a great way to express yourself but some things may not come across the way you intend them. I love emoticons, myself.

And for God's sake, don't stop joking - you have a great sense of humor, albeit on the subtle side, and thus easily misunderstood (thus my emoticon suggestion). Especially late at night - there is a whole bunch of us insomniacs here...

You also, thanks.
Grown men using there , If you insist I will take one for the team and "smiley on". And I'll become a better man for it.

OP kalebk07
Nice to meet ya Ken.

kalebko7, I look forward to further interaction.

this is for Ken:
We've been over this, but seeing where as your one of the big dogs, you get a second :toast:

Hey Ken! I wasn't poking fun with my pic, I just remembered that I'd taken it on Valentine's day and threw it up there

Hope you stick around! It's good to have a variety of personalities in here.

It's great that you're such a proactive vaper, everyone should do what they can to spread the word. I'm a work-at-home writer, stay-at-home mom and I'm currently teaching myself how to design websites and what not so I don't really get out enough to convert people. I've already vaperized everyone in my family that I can, but my husband takes GV cards to work with him and he's handed all of them out to a lot of interested folks. Actually, I need to put a comment in my next order to give me a slew of them because he's been having to write it down

I have converted many people online, though. It makes me happy to know I'm saving lives!

BonnyC,
I dont recall the pic so I'm gonna skip that.. I'm not going anywhere. That post of mine was a proper hello. Not to be mistaken in anyway for a goodbye. Its going to take a lot more than me sticking my foot in my mouth for that to happen. :)
Pro-active vaping issues have become my mission, and I have put it directly to Rolygate himself as to why were not using our collective numbers and voice to fight fire with fire. Because we have the truth on our side. Oh yea and that little aspect about saving lives.
My wife and I, for the past 2 yrs have become stay at home parents,as I fell and herniated 3 discs and dislocated my tailbone. I haven't been able to work since. I am a licensed builder and my wife has never had a job as I have always had that covered.
When you guys were talking about ssi the other day I almost chimed in. I finally got it approved a couple of weeks ago after 2 yrs. The judge actually got my case, cancelled the hearing, and approved it w/o even seeing me. So that is great news.
So all of my converting takes place at 1 out of the 5 Drs offices or your occasional hosp visit. I actually have 3 doctors recommending vaping as they have seen me for 2 yrs and my last cig was on 1-20-12. So they have got a first hand case study. All the BP meds are gone and They are amazed that I'm down to mostly 0 nic.
I am scheduled for triple disc fusion surgery this coming Thursday morning. So I will be signing off Wed night for several days, but rest assured I will be back with a vengence. I may not be able to spell my name, but thats how you will know I'm baaaak.
I have converted 5 neighbors. I gave away 6 KR808 batts to 3 diff neighbors once I discovered eGos after the first 2 weeks.

OP tinajfreeman
Nice to meet you Ken! I too believe in the life-saving power of vaping, and have given starter sets to a half dozen friends and family as well as helping many more with information on vaping and equipment. I smoked 20 years, and quit literally hundreds of times. Vaping is the ONLY thing that works for me, and I LOVE IT! Welcome to our group!

tinajfreeman, we have had interactions previously. I cant see your avatar as I'm in advanced mode right now(and I'm pc ignorant) so I couldn't tell you where, but good to see/chat again.
5 yrs ago I went cold turkey for 8 months and it was like I lost an arm or a part of myself. It is criminal what has been allowed to happen to us, health wise, as a nation and ECF is a collection of people who have the beginnings of whats needed for change.
Thanks for the welcome.

CS, if 1 person switches due to your efforts, well whats a human life worth?
The whole sense of community and PIF is a beautiful thing and I have neighbors, heck I have family that I dont have half the interactions with that I have here with this community.
To me the kissyface thing was along the lines of a grown man using smileys. It was totally a joke and as we all learned I need to work on my communication skills a bit. I'm glad to see you here because I was sure we got off on the wrong foot and I wanted to fix that. So thanks for that.
I literally received the Provari a couple of days ago in a trade situation. I refused to submit to the "provari machine", but decided I was being hardheaded so I traded another APV for it. The Genesis is the DefCon from S&S Mods and its only $55, made by a ECF member in Maryland.
I have run jobs with hundreds of guys on it and the whole world knows me as Ken. For some reason my wife started calling me Kenny when we met and you know how that goes at that stage of the game, she could of called me mud and it would of been ok.:)

Ok I'm sure there have been other posts during the hour it took me to perpare this welcome. But I dont have the skills to view them and I certainley aren't about risk losing this post, so thanks to anybody I may of missed while I typed an astonishing 5 words a minute ;-]

Wow Ken....prayers going up for your surgery and recovery! Hope everything goes very well for you.

lol Love where you said your wife started callin ya Kenny when you met, and she could have called you anything at that point

Thanks, I failed to add to the name thing that for 14 yrs her and her whole huge family are the only people on the face of this earth that get away with calling me that. Funny how that works. :)

Your dignity is safe. We won't tell anyone. :D

Oh, congrats, that's a great relief, I know. That hearing is the pits - I almost fell under the table I was so nervous. You are fortunate not to have gone through that. But two years...

Yes a couple of years ago I could of been thrown off jobsites for using smileys, but I think I've grown as a man comfortable enough in my own skin to smiley freely.:) :)

My dis lawyer told me that because Im only 36 that I would get denied twice and have to end up seeing a judge. I was actually looking forward to showing him/her my resume and asking why I can work 70 hrs a week for 17 yrs but when it comes time for me to be helped this is what I get.

Good luck to you Ken!

Getting the medical professionals on our side is a big step in the right direction, IMO. It's also a tough nut to crack in many cases.

Not quite a year ago, I had a severe case of iron deficient anemia. I had a reaction to iron supplements taken orally so I had to be hooked up to an IV. Three rounds and they took three hours each time! It really sucked. They actually let me use my ecig in there! I was thrilled and talked to the nurses about it for a while.

My hematologist is also an oncologist and we had some convos about them. She said that she has had lung cancer patients who went to ecigs and she saw a huge difference in their health. She can't professionally recommend it but she does suggest it to some folks. I got her sister to start using them. Well, she got her to, but I gave her all the info/links/etc.

This is a fight we'll win. I'm quite confident.

As for thread degeneration, it's the nature of the beast. When there's a long gap between new products, we've basically already gone over them with a fine toothed comb and we're just hanging out while we wait. After folks got the Rocket, there were pages and pages and pages full of nothing but stacked battery debate. I was like  I mostly skipped over it unless I saw something I could make fun of  It's just gettin' silly because everything else has been said.

I got your joke, but it did raise a good debate topic! Oh, the pic was just a pic I took of myself on Valentine's Day making a kissy face. No big deal!
