That's what I often refer to as drunk finger  They just don't cooperate the way they should....lol

Another one of those times where I type a paragraph then delete and write this....

I am going to do the unthinkable. I am creating my very own internet acronym. From now on the above sentence will be known as APD. APD, definition: Another Paragraph Deleted.
Please feel free to elaborate on this and come up with something more creative, as I've only had 1 of 3 cups of coffee so far.

Here is the unaltered chart... and if I recall correctly, this forum will show it very small... but you can right click on the image and select save as... and then look at it on your computer in full size...

I am working on my "multi quoting skills" so that I dont have to post 6 times in a row like this.

NOTICE (serious) To all members new to APV, stacking batts and higher voltages. Save this chart to your desktop, or somewhere you can easily access it. This chart is your safety and the life of your devices, cartos, attys, etc. Refer to it often. Until it becomes second nature, this will help keep you in the realm of SAFETY, when it comes to higher voltage vaping. There are great benefits to higher voltage vaping. Do not be afraid to experiment with HV vaping. BUT, use this chart to make sure your staying within the realm of proper use. The Rocket is capable of utilizing HV vaping, but it does not have safety features built in (that I know of) that will keep you from wandering past realistic boundries. If memory serves me the included carto, filler, type thing included in the Rocket kit is like a 3Ω carto. This means you can and must turn up the voltage on the device to get any decent use out of said carto.
It guys feel free to fill in any gaps I missed here.

I saved the image to my 'e cig stuff' folder on my comp. You never know when the link might disappear from the 'net and you might have to hunt it down. Not that it'd be hard, but still. You could also make it your desktop background so you always see it

Ken- no need to apologize. I appreciate your dry humor. Heck, I married someone with dry humor. Ticks me off sometimes because I think he's making fun of me, but after almost 11 years, I know he's not serious. I just take jabs at him right back. He's a champ about that so I know I need to get my undies out of a twist.

Back to the chart, logic implies that I want to use the voltage suggested for the two middle numbers on the row with my ohms. Since the ohms are kind of generalized, mine being 2.4-2.6 Phoenixes, I would want to aim for about 3.7-4.2 with 4v being the most likely 'sweet spot' unless my tastes differ.

When I used my old dongle on a higher voltage, it was on a 2.8 ohm stardust that vaped like it was in the 3s. Cool vapor, not satisfying on a regular ego batt.

This chart is kinda interesting. I mean, if I love my Phoenixes on the 3.2v or whatever the standard is for regular ego batts, I'll most likely love it even more at a higher voltage. I always thought higher v were for the higher ohm carts.

Gonna go look up my batt to check what v it's supposed to have. It wasn't from GV because I hadn't heard of them yet. More's the pity. To be fair, this unnamed vendor has always been good to me, though I don't have the close relationship with them that I have with GV. I got my first eGo and 510 pen style batts from them about a year and a half ago and every single battery is still working perfectly. They're my backup! They don't have all the cool goodies GV does, not even close. I just don't wanna be rude or ungrateful, even if I'm the only one that knows which vendor I'm talking about

Oh, good morning aka delivery day (for me)!

Edited to add: A customer reviewed it and said it's 650 mah and 3.7v so maybe I haven't been missing out on anything.

I've been up since 4 and I just skimmed over this post. I am an eGo freak who just sold the whole colection cuz I'm all APVs now. Anyway a 650 eGo 3.7 batt is not 3.7. they are more like 3.4 at best after a fresh charge. If you use a cheap 3.7v box mod take the same carto, for instance, and hit it on a fresh charged eGo and put it on the box you are going to be surprised at the difference.
As far as the rest of that post I'm in and out today and dont even know my own name so later on this eve if I'm not horizontal, I will try 2 use my brain again and pitch in.

BTW, Everybody: Thanks for all the well wishes and the good mojo. It means a lot, and I'll take all the good energy I can get right now.
Thanks,
Ken

It's alright Ken, I tend to write novels instead of posts and I fully expect people to skim  I've thought about bolding the important parts so they'll be more noticeable, but I'd eventually just be bolding the whole thing :p

I figured 3.7 was pushing it. I've always thought it was a 3.2, so I'll just go with that.

Yes 3.2 is realistic, 3.4 maybe fresh off charge then drops quick upon use. Your extended posts aren't bad compared to some 3 page dissertations. :)

So, I'm vaping on my new dongle. This needs a name. I guess we could call it 'The Stylish'?

First impression as far as visual goes: It's smaller than I expected. The cord is thinner, too. Here's a pic so you can see what I mean:

IMG_20120709_114544.jpg

My first concern is the wire since that's what went wrong with my vornado dongle. I'll tape a carto tube on the base so there's less stress at the point it enters the dongle.

Holding it feels natural. One finger above the button, one on it and the third near the wire for balance. I'm just starting to use it so I can't say anything definitive yet. Gotta put it through the paces. It's working fine so far on the low voltage with a Phoenix 2.4-2.6 3ml tank. I like the way it's made because I can fit my lanyard on it since it has the outer threading. Yeah, I know. A lanyard seems a little overboard but it'll keep the thing from sliding down into my lap. Gotta admit, I'm a little afraid I'll forget it's on the lanyard and stand up, dragging my power strip with me

So far so good!

Actually, nix the lanyard part. I can use it with my big Phoenix, but the cone won't screw onto it with the smaller Phoenixes. I have the big cone that works with the Fluxos and small Phoenixes. The skirt is too long for the threading to meet. However, my sleeve works just fine.

Oh yeah, I like the little lines on the bottom part. Makes for a better grip than the other one, though I don't know how important that is. It's aesthetically pleasing, at the very least.

Ugh, you can see how I chew on my drip tips  They're all like that! I woulda used the steel one to hide my shame but it seems to be a bit smaller than the standard kind and I wanted to give you all a good comparison so you can get a good idea of the size. Heck, that's not even bad chewing. I just put it between my front teeth and spin it sometimes. Nervous habit. I stopped biting my nails, though!

Love this mini passthrough. Have only been using it for 15min but so far I am really impressed. Its easy to use even for noobies. What I like most is its size. I am currently trying it with a Dc carto tank. The tank is bigger than the PT but it works great. Sizewise it looks best with a carto rather then a tank. My only concern is its durability. The cord is pretty thin. It would be great if there was some type of extra protection where the cord enters the pt. I am afraid after alot of use it may wear itself loose. The pt body looks durable. Not sure what its made from. But, so far my impression of it is--- its a winner! I will for sure be buying more of these.

Jnnfrlsw - I love it, too. I cranked it up to the second voltage setting, 3.8v, and I'm quite impressed. The vapor is noticeably increased along with the flavor and throat hit. No burning taste. I'm gonna try some strawberry juice in the next tank full because it was kinda mild to me and I think a higher voltage would make a big difference.

Edit: (I'm having to edit a lot today) we were talking about the cord issue when GV first showed off pics of this. Someone said that they took the tube from an old carto and split it down the side so they could fit it over the cord, then they taped it up and secured it to the base of the dongle. This kept the wire from bending at the bottom of the dongle. I'm gonna do that later today since we don't seem to have any electrical or duct tape!

Oy vey! Save as isn't giving me the larger image. Got a link to the source location?

Thanks Keela!
