Ok more info on the CE5 ALPHA product since many of you should be getting it soon. I had to search high and low and finally found the info on what is happening inside the center steel tube on this. I want to share it here. The coil in this unit is in the center of the tube so it is quasi-top-coil.

There is a sheath of filler around the inside of the tube and that is where juice initially makes contact...that juice is then transferred to two long wicks that feed the coil.

Don't ask me what cryotron is (some sort of plastic I suppose). Thsi seems to perform very very well out of the box but my only concern is in cleaning this and extending its life....

I'll be getting mine tomorrow too.. I sure hope it can be cleaned. Looks interesting though...

This actually performed for me slightly better than a stardust out of the box, but unless we can test cleaning it it doesn't seem like it would have the longevity of the Stardust. I imagine first of all you can do a simple hot water flush down the middle of the unit but you will have to flick and let airdry for a day or two. When you flush it is it goign to dislodge the filler sheet, etc.? It seemd to have a tendency to start leaking after three or four fills or so so be on the lookout for that.

I was told they are open for any feedback from us...

I am planning on doing something similar tomorrow with one of the scorpions I have. I have not been happy with either of them although I read many of you are happy. Anyway I was going to fill the tube partially with blue foam filler and leave the wicks just long enough to feed off the foam. Has anyone had these apart? The wicks in mine are on the hard side. Very plastic like.
I did trim the wicks down a bit originally and redraped the larger wick that sits above the coil. It worked OK for 1/2 a day and then went back to dry hits. I honestly believe it is the wicking material which is causing problems. If that's the case the foam addition probably will not have any influence. I am hoping a shorter wick travel will somehow help it. We'll see.

Is there any way to check the actual voltage output on the rockets? My screw on volt meter does not work. I assume it's because of the pulse technology. Out of my 5 ego style batteries it only works on two so I assume the output voltage style is different on some of those also. Works fine on the ProVari.

The Ce5 is nice!! Danno, thank you for putting this in Alpha! The past two cartos were a bit disappointing for me, though the C8V3 is great when I can make it behave. This makes up for them and then some. Wow!

Preliminary review:

Filled it up with Strawberry Cheesecake (omg amazing juice btw), at first I had my syringe in hand before I remembered that I could fill this directly from the bottle  So much easier. Anyway, filled it up to just over the top hole so it would get the maximum amount of juice soakage. Let it sit for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Popped it onto a freshly charged ego battery.

First thing I noticed, it won't screw all the way onto my ego batt. There's a gap, but it's not huge. It's still noticeable, but connects just fine. Second thing I noticed as I was taking my first draw, it whistles. Like a quiet tea kettle. I've always found that sort of annoying, so any suggestions are welcome. I tried screwing it down further but there was a fair bit of resistance and I didn't want to break it or anything. Oh, and it also crackles but I associate that with good wicking, so I'm not worried about it.

Third thing I noticed was unbelievable throat hit. Woah! The taste is great and the TH is better than anything I have ever had that I can remember. The vapor produced is also pretty decent, better than acceptable for me.

Fourth thing that I noticed was that I can see it wicking like the Phoenix. Little bubbles float up. That's pretty cool and I love an indicator like that.

A+, two thumbs up, 5 stars. We'll see how it does in the long run.

Got my Hush 12mg nic juice sampler, but I didn't wanna test it with that since I haven't had that flavor before. Strawberry Cheesecake tastes perfect, though. If this thing has to be broken in, I'm in for an amazing treat :D

Y'all gotta carry the ce5, the draw is better than a stardust (more airy), the flavor is on par with a Phoenix, I don't know about cleaning but after two power vaped tanks it's hitting well, not one dry hit.

Please get more of these.

I got my CE5 today.. so far, so REALLY good! I'm not a fan of stardusts, flavors are muted to me in those. This CE5 is pretty fabulous so far. Fits perfectly on my Ego Epower and my Twist. Flavor is not muted at all, tons and tons of vapor. If this thing can be cleaned, it's a winner!

I also got my new red Rocket.. :rickroll: First thing I did was file off a bit of the top around the connector. Then I put a very tiny bead of sealant between the connector and the body. I'll let it dry all evening while I'm at work to make sure it's good and dry and will fire it up when I get home later. Very excited about this!! I appreciate this being an alpha.. I think it's a pretty good device and I saw it for sale on another site for $89, body only, no batts or charger. You guys rock!!!

Oh,, and I ordered Thursday night and got it today... super fast! And a root beer candy.. yum!

GotVapes mail arrived today!!!! :toast: Fast delivery...Thanks GV!

Ce5: First impression, the draw is a little tight...but, not too tight. I'd rather have the draw a little tight than Airy, YMMV. Over all it is, IMHO a keeper...flavor (a little muted), throat hit (may be better with other juices) and Vapor (again may depend on the juice).

I did get some flooding initially, but that may have been because I directed a couple of drops into the metal tipped condom. Also, some vapor inside the tank, but I'm not concerned about that. This is vaping with my LT at 3.8V. It shows 2.8ohm resistance on my multimeter. At 4.1V it's pretty warm and the juice is getting a burnt taste (that's where the vapor in the tank shows up). Maybe, things will change on the next tank full.

Again, overall I like the Ce5...the cleaning may be a drawback I have not gotten to that yet. My general methodology is...If it aint broke, it needs fixin'. I'll, put that off for a while, since I only have one of these I don't want to fix it right away. :)

Well I got my CE5 also today and I have to agree this thing works like a champ. Great vapor, flavor and to me the draw just right, not to tight or airy. Did notice it doesn't seem to screw all the way down on my ego adapter. On second tank full and still hitting the same hit after hit. Depending on how it cleans this is definitely a keeper. Thanks again GV for another great Alpha product.

I'm getting vapor in the tank at the lowest zongle setting (3.0). I've wondered if my zongle's voltage is accurate, though. I mean, when I put it at 3.6 I was getting that nasty burnt taste on the Stallions while others loved it at 4.0+. I don't have any way to test it and generally stick to the lowest setting, though I go a tad higher on some juices. I dunno.

Anyway, yeah. Vapor in the tank. Still awesome and still quite noisy.
