Dan and/or Chris...

On the Greensound SOLE eLips 360 Kit... It would be nice to know if there is any battery protection on this one...

Does the battery just shut down when the batteries get low?
Is it a regulated battery, if so how much voltage output?

Poked around on alibaba, I think these are the specs of the battery but not sure as I have no way to know for sure...

Brand Name: Green Sound Place of Origin: Guangdong China (Mainland) Model Number: GS-Sole
Product size: 119mm(L)*17.3mm*10.8mm(D) Weight of a full cigarette: 23g Weight of a whole set: 170g
Colors: black/white/red etc Battery capacity: 360mah manual Full battery lasts: 350 puffs
Button on battery: LED smart 5 clicks smart sys... Resistance of heating coil: 2.5-2.9Ω Welding style: ....-weld

Anyone have a meter to test if voltage is regulated or not?

I also new to the ALPHA Program could suggest an ALPHA Members only forum? That way could have posts for various products which would make it easy for everyone to discuss. If not here could set it up on the GV domain? If help was needed I could assist with setting up a phpbb or vbulletin or something if they wanted their own. Although optimally a private section here would be the best bet.

Until a few days ago I was a non-Alpha lurker here. Even though I wasn't in the program I really enjoyed following the discussions and learning about the new products in the pipeline. I'm not clear what the advantage of making the thread private would be...??

I too would LOVE for this to happen, we need a separate sub-forum. I am not sure if that is something that ECF could do for GV or not. Putting a separate forum on the GV website is something that would be totally doable. There are free open source message board apps/code out there. They could have the link to get into the board in the alpha section and would be able to limit entry to just alpha users. Of course if they did this they would now have to monitor posts in two locations versus just on ECF, but would not be that big of a deal.

We need a way to separate the conversation by device, there is no way you could expect a new alpha member to read though 236 pages of posts and growing fast to find info on the alpha products, or to be able to easily find if a question they have has already been answered.

True I guess it does not need to be private, unless GV wants it that way. The more opinions the merrier IMO.

Well not necessarily Private but Separate so we can:

This is why I think a separate forum would be good. This would do more then make it easy to discuss each product, but could also be a resource for when a product does go live. If public they could link people to it (granted the bad would be in here too) and get support for the device if needed etc. Keeping it private I think could be good and bad as it would restrict who can add their opinion BUT not sure how GV feels about adding pictures to the reviews and such but there would be no issues with that limitation (if there is one) on a private forum.

Putting a separate forum on the GV website is something that would be totally doable. There are free open source message board apps/code out there. They could have the link to get into the board in the alpha section and would be able to limit entry to just alpha users.

phpBB3 is Free and easy to manage. I can easily set this up if there is the need or want from GV.

Anybody think about using the "search thread" option? ;) I just tried that with the Sole and it brought them all up. :)
This is true and can work but it also shows partial posts not the whole context which means there are other posts between the relevant ones I am looking for. A single thread for each product makes it easier for us as well as GV to pull their data and options about the product without having to go though a bunch of extra posts.

Just received my eLips, got the black one. Love the feel of it, although is much lighter weight than I expected. As most have already stated came fully charged, plugged it in to top it off and in about 5 mins. was ready to go. Filling the carto tank was a breeze, definitely absorbed alot of juice on the first fill. Tried it out with the Flux Cinnamon roll flav that I also ordered at the same time, Don't usually start a new PV with a new juice but in this case I did, and both were awesome!!!
This thing hits great, great flavor. The feel of this in my hand is great also, a little on the light side but just feels comfortable to hold, much different than most other PVs. Well almost finished with the first tank and has performed great all the way through. My one concern is the carto to battery connection... was very hard to remove the tank for the first time, assume it will loosen as it is removed more and that is where my concern is, being plastic will it loosen to the point the connection starts to fail because of it becoming too loose? Only time will tell.. Till then I'm loving it. Thanks again GV for yet another great Alpha product.

Greensound SOLE eLips 360 Kit - CIGAR Brown

Update: Vaping on this exclusively and heavily since 2:30 est. Chain vaped the heck out of it and no dry hits. First tank is gone, flavor may have improved a bit, not sure hard to tell.

I dont foresee this ever leaking.

I have a feeling acidic juice will destroy the plastic on these tanks, a minus for me as 2 of my top 5 flavors are acidic.

I will buy a elips to 510 adapter once they are available, not finding them at other vendors but have not looked very hard.

Still think this is a good beginner kit depending on the price.

Also if you are getting a very airy draw double check the mouth piece is all the way down, I made that mistake once.

I'm with Kaptkobe, the Ce5 works great and does taste a bit better than stardust. I'd order more. I've vaped 100%VG grape in it for over a week and not one dry hit. A winner in my book. Off to order vivi's now that there in stock. I also love my Rocket. My suggestion is to get a sealed shorty to make sure it doesn't drown. I did flood it with a scorpion which I don't seem to be able to get to work. It was great on scor. #1 until I refilled, then the flood occurred. I was thankful to have saved the rocket by wiping out the excess juice and back vaping like a train. It does run hot so turn it down and gently turn up to sweet spot. Thanks Alpha!!! Gotvapes rocks!!

My thoughts on the CE5.....

It is really nice. The flavor and vapor are excellent and the throat hit is better than most other clearos I have tried. The draw is very airy. The airy draw is just about my only complaint. But this is purely subjective and a matter of personal preference. I tend to like a slightly stiffer draw.

I haven't tried to clean it yet since it doesn't need it and so I will wait on this. I have read some reviews on cleaning it and if it as easy as others have said, that shouldn't be an issue.

While this still isn't my favorite option out there, it is really nice and will be a great addition to GV's regular lineup!

Greensound SOLE eLips 360 Kit - follow up

I did find out that the Sole does have battery level protection... when it is discharged the button will flash a bunch of times to let you know it is done. Unfortunately I wasn't paying close attention ( I was busy at work ) and I didn't notice if it gave some previous warning before it was run down. The battery lasted for 1 1/2 tanks worth of juice. I think I would have gotten close to 3hrs worth of vape time ( I'm between a moderate to heavy vaper ) but I was very busy and it actually lasted for 5 hrs before I ran out battery.

Recharge time using a 1a wall USB power supply was right at an hour...

I really couldn't tell if the voltage was regulated or not which may indicate it was... I didn't notice the vape flavor/vapor dropping off. I'm not used to vaping at this lower wattage that a PV like this has... so that may be why I couldn't tell also... I can say that when I compared the vape on the Sole to the VV Passthru.... it was similar to somewhere between the 3.6v and the 4.2v setting.

Overall... The vape is good for this type of PV... I'm used to a higher wattage and therefore compared to that ( which isn't fair ) it's flavor is weak but compared to a standard 510 type it is a little better.

I really like the clearomizer that is included... it fills easily and at the moment I haven't seen any indication of a leak.

For me the form factor is nice but as I mentioned and another has already said... for larger hands it would be a little too small.

The USB charger adapter... this is a weak point... no need to repeat this again so this will be the last except if I need to mention it in discussion

Just a quick first glance, as I just received my Sole kit. I have it charging now, the light just turned green, so I will be vaping soon, but wanted to put up a quick box-opening POV.

First, the device is a little smaller than I was anticipating. Not a great big deal, as it feels very nice in the hand. It has a very nice ergonomic feel. So far impressed.

I also wanted to get this out of the way and not mention it again, (at least I will try). I have to wonder, if it is so far such a grand consensus, even before the PVs were received, who was in charge of saying, 'Yes, let's do the pin charger'? Several options would have been better: mini or micro USB, a USB plug on the bottom of the PV that would plug directly in...if you have to use the pin, make an oval cup on the end of the charger that the PV would sit in when charging to add stability. This is a glaring negative on this device, and I would really like to see anything else. That said, it is not such a negative that it will prevent me from using it or buying more in the future. Heck, it might not even be a bad deal if it keeps cost down enough that I wouldn't feel slighted if it broke and I had to buy a new one. But I will reserve my judgement until I see how this thing vapes..... Until then...Live Long and Vapor

GV Sole

First impression.
I’m impressed. Granted, no real instructions is evidently assuming that users are previously aware of the operation of the earlier models, but rather bad form not to explain the battery operation, charging, and tank/atty replacement. The vape is very good. Good and thick vape with nice easy draw which can be tightened up by plugging on the air holes on the side of the atty. After two tanks, no dry hits. A nice fit to the hand (and pocket), but is a little bit longer than the original version.

Fill/refill is quite simple with much less mess than earlier ‘enclosed tank’ models and only takes a few moments to prime after the initial load. After the first half tank flavor is increasing and there is no evidence of leaks.

When the battery gets low the switch gives multiple blinks when pressed and will not fire until charged.

Comparison to earlier styles.
I have an earlier ‘enclosed tank’ style by MiT. I’ve found that model to be very easy to maintain and love the flavor and vapor. The Sole continues in that vein and I think will be much preferred with it being even easier to use and much less mess. These small PVs are very convenient as a backup and when slipped into even a shirt pocket it’s unobtrusive. After three stays in the hospital last spring, I was sold on the value of this style as a stealth vape. Had I the sole at that time I would certainly have been happy to know how much juice was left.

Hardware compatibility:
Sadly, the batteries and attys from my earlier MiT version aren’t quite a match. The lock rings on the two styles are different, however, if the tank is held on the atty to maintain contact it does fire – probably take more fiddling than its worth to mod them though. Since the Sole is an ovale, you may find those to be a perfect fit for the older 360 batteries. (As I’ve just read, badkolo has verified they do fit on his earlier model)

The USB charging cables from the older version as well as the iTaste VV fit this battery. The charging dongle supplied with this unit is not convenient and I suggest using a USB extension cable when using it.

The 2nd carto I purchased died after 4 draws. Well, it tried to fake its death, anyway. It wasn't heating at all, I tried taking it out and putting it back in. Later, I put it back on the battery and it started working after about 3 draws. Took it a while to start working well, though. No idea why that happened.

The sugar cookie is not wicking well at all. This is in the above mentioned carto, so it could have something to do with it. It's 70pg and a somewhat dark juice. Primer puffs help a little, but just waiting longer between draws is best. We'll see how the next tank does. I'll fill it up with some Hush.

I can't stay up and stalk the alpha products page tonight, the kids go back to school tomorrow so I gotta get up early.

I really like this. I love the feel of it in my hand, fits in my shirt pocket. The vape is good, I was getting alot of vapor after I let it sit a while to wick.
I only got about an hour, if that of vape time out of the first charge. I will see if the second charge will last longer.

received my sole today and like someone else mentioned i figured it would be a bit bigger, not really a gripe just an observation. I think this will have good potential as a stealth. I don't mind the charger as my tower sits on top of my desk since it is so large and has a top USB so i will just charge it upright there but I can see where issues could arise from it. filling was very easy and i like how i can stick it in my pocket or lay it down on the table sideways and not worry about it flooding or leaking. I am on my second tank 3/4 finished on the factory charge and it still has the same flavor( which isn't bad) and great vapor. There was about 6 puffs in the middle of the first tank that I hardly got any vapor from it, not sure why, but I went back to normal. all and all I would give it 2 thumbs up for vapor production and taste and 2 thumbs and a big toe up for functionality
