Controls like the Vamo or the Zmax?

Not sure what the Vamo is (since I don't have one) but you hold the + for 8 seconds to enter the menu has 3 options. Power / LCD Type / LCD On/Off
Hold + will show ohms
Hold - will show power setting (wattage or volts depending what you are using.)

Has the 5 click on/off

I love the button its recessed and fells VERY good in the hand. Like a small weapon... er I mean Flashlight.
