You're probably thinking of the AMP tank.

Yes, that is the one. This sounds like a much more reasonable version. (And possible to fill it without losing half your juice in the process.. Even the store's demo video didn't make it look doable.)

For $125 it needs to fill itself. And switch flavors for me before I realize I want to. :) This one is much more awesome, can't wait to give it a shot. (And it definitely qualifies as "something special" for the alpha team!)

In for one. My first alpha order. At the moment I'm trying out my first carto tank, one of the cheapish SmokTech DCT tanks. Not diggin' it. Dry and scratchy. I suspect it's the pre-drilled (lazer punched?) dual coil cartos that I bought along with the tank. The Raven looks like a much more effective juice-delivery system!

did you prime the carto correctly? and leave enough air in the tank to form pressure?

That's a good question. I DID make sure the filler in the carto was saturated. And I DID leave about 1/4 inch of room in the tank when I filled it. When I take a drag or a dry hit, I see little bubbles occasionally emerge from the two holes in the carto. But every drag is dry and scratchy. Unpleasant.

Every so often I take a look at the top of the carto while it's still in the tank, and it's *always* dry. So I give it 4 or 5 more drops, so that it appears saturated again. I take a drag, and that FIRST one is decent. But each successive pull is dry and scratchy. Not burnt.

It's a dual coil XL smoktek carto, and I'm using it on an eVic. 2.2-2.3Ohm. I'm firing at 3.7-4.2V.

I just gave up and transferred the juice (happens to be Smokeless Image's RY4) into my VapeOnly Mega BCC.
Aaaaahhhhh....much better.

Anyway, back on topic. I do believe the Raven will work much better. I'm looking forward to having no filler
to deal with. :)

It'll always be at least mostly dry on top - its going to settle to the level of the tank in the fluid. If the juice is too thick it might not be feeding properly (bubbles or not.) One thing to try is take 2 or 3 hard drags without firing the atty, then vape it. Sometimes you can get enough fluid in it to work that way.

how are all my poopielinos liking the new alpha products, much more is on its way folks, we will make sure alpha is stacked with tons of new stuff for all of you to try

LOL. New stuff is ALWAYS great (unless it's the X6...in which case, frustrating but workable might fit). What's happening with the MegaTwix? Looks interesting. Not for me probably, but interesting still.

I'm sort of an old fart as far as vaping goes. I've got my dripping gear, and most tanks just don't hold much interest, but that's a neat concept.

I was about to place an order to try the Vision juices just to give my impression of those (DIY only for cost reasons). Is it OK to order another CE9 too? My bully died and I could use a back up dripping atty (which is what I do with the one I have). Since 5 have been sitting in stock for days/(weeks?), I figure it's OK to grab another.

Thanks GV! :)

As much as I like dripping, I don't have that kind of time :) (I also don't have the kind of money it would take to get a couple of AMPs.)

If you decide to try the new tanks, I'd be interested to hear how it compares to a decent drip atty. (I've only used a couple of stingray attys from a brick&morter.)

Two holes, and this juice isn't thick at all. I don't know the exact ratio but I'm guessing it's 70PG/30VG.
I don't know exactly how much juice I primed the carto with. I never saw any come out of the punched holes,
but it DID start to leak out of the bottom. So I waited for a few minutes, and added some more (maybe 1.5ml?) with
a syringe. It started leaking out of the bottom again and the top looked saturated, so I figured it was as primed as it
was ever gonna be....

thanks for all the help, btw. I don't mean to derail the thread. I've been reading up in the carto tank section and
I don't *think* I did anything wrong. I think it's just a bad carto. It happens.
No biggie. I'll maybe get a few from ikenvape since carto-tank people seem to dig them so much.
That is, unless the Raven works as well as I'm thinking it will.

sure you can why not, go for it

TY, order placed!

Since you are here - the talking chargers are great since they can be muted. The Tox was good (but weak)...while it lasted. The Apollo's had an interesting design, but I don't like wet pockets. The CE9 is awesome, without the drip pin. Ummmm..... that's all I can think of at the moment.

So - what exactly IS in these filler-less "cartos"? Does the wick just extend straight to the sides of the tube?

I've been vaping a while now, and started with 901's (and actually still like those, but don't buy them anymore), a variety of 510's and 306's, the Hyper SRT, the Bully, the CE9, the Monster Mesh, Vivi's, Startdusts, E1's, various cartos (incl in tanks and also IKV carto's). I generally like carto's, but never got a system together for keeping them labeled/organized.

So, my preference always bounces back to some sort of dripper it seems. In particular these days the made for rebuilding dripping atties (the CE9 at the moment, since it's inexpensive [here] and works great w/out that blasted pin). Not to mention, re-buildables are dirt cheap to maintain (I got enough kanthal to last me years...for free here on ECF! and a bag of 100% cotton balls lasts an eternity). I would like to get an IGO-L at some point (any plan to carry those?) primarily because it looks like it would hold a couple dozen drops and the air hole can be re-positioned as necessary. If it weren't for my CONSTANT flavor changing (and dearth of money at this point) I may very well have 20 tanks with various juices, but I just can't fathom doing that any time soon. I also generally like the Startdusts because they are relatively easy to rewick/coil, and there's little enough juice in them that you can change it up pretty frequently. Vivi's/Startdusts/the Apollo's/and the E1 have fair taste quality and vapor but all seem to have some period of time you get gurgling in them, and that just frustrates me. The CE9 can gurgle too, but only if I just filled it and am holding it the "wrong way" (hole facing downward).

No idea why I felt the need to share all that, but there ya go. :p

I may get a chance to try the tanks, but that'll probably only happen if one of my friends happens to get one, but I'll certainly share my opinion, since that doesn't seem to be an issue :p

Man, I wish I had a vape-buddy. Or a shop close by where I could go for help and supplies. I've only got one friend that uses e-cigs. He successfully kicked his analog habit but is content to stick with cig-sized batteries and regular old cartomizers. He looks at all the devices I have and just shakes his head. I have to remind him that I'm not trying to satisfy a nic-craving, I'm chasing the flavor dragon!

:( Sorry you don't have a vape bud - even though I've turned a lot of people onto vaping now, few of them are as "into it" as I am. For me it's a "hobby-diction" for sure :)

ETA: correction: none of them. :p

Check and see if there are any vape meets in your area.
