I’ve made ricotta out of Lactaid milk, but haven’t tried yogurt yet. Baby girl would love it if I could use that to make her some “safe ice cream” as she named frozen yogurt.I think the premise is that not only is most/all of the lactose gone, but the concentration of active cultures is also far greater than in typical yogurt. My gut bacteria is all out of whack, due to my disease, so I need far more of them and in the right combinations. Most yogurts contain a bacteria that I shouldn't have.
@NolaMel , I only had 1% milk on hand, so it wasn't very creamy; I'm used to a Greek-yogurt consistency. Next time, I'll use whole milk and I might try using a larger bowl (instead of the individual glass jars that the machine came with) and then strain it for Greek yogurt/cream cheese. I suspect I'll get better at it, after a few tries.
Well, who knew! My SCD book didn't offer a recipe to make that myself, so I now I have to wonder why, if it's that simple? I have recipes in there on how to make the yogurt, greek yogurt, cream fresh, cream cheese, etc. using homemade nut milks or regular milk, however the book makes it seem like the dry curd cottage cheese needs to be purchased, instead of made. Hmm...
Probably, there are a couple of suggested resources in the book, however, I haven't seen it in any of my usual grocery stores. I hate having to go to so many different stores to get specialty items... But if it keeps me off of the biologics, so be it.
my first nic I bought was 60mg now i'm buying 100mg just because it will last longer, a little goes a long way... esp now that I'm down to 1.5mg
I have no intentions of dropping from 6mg. It just works well for me. I once tried making sft's with no nic but the taste was just flat to me so that didn't work well.
This recipe started with a former member, Sgt.Rock, way back when. The amount of flavor in the original is around 20% total. This is a version I enjoyed for a long time.
Crème Chantilly de Menthe
10% Menthol Solution 2%
Creme de Menthe (TFA) 6%
Marshmallow (TFA) 1.5%
Koolada 10% (TPA) 1%
Whipped Cream (TFA) 5%
If I made this today, I would probably leave out the menthol (though it is nice with it) and change the Whipped Cream to half FA Fresh Cream and half VTA Sweet Cream or Devon Cream and switch out the Koolada for .5% WS-23. Maybe something like this.
Creme de Menthe (TFA) 6%
Fresh Cream (FA) 1.5%
Sweet Cream (VTA) 1.5% or Devon Cream (either VTA or Cupcake World) 1.5%
Marshmallow (FA) 1.5%
WS-23 .5 to .75%
Well, I can be proud of myself today. Didn't feel much like mixing but I got the Marmalade Gin and Tonic mixed.

I would go with the popular Strawberry Trinity - TFA Strawberry Ripe @ 3%, INW Shisha Strawberry @ 2%, and FA Red Touch @ 0.5%.
Well, I so far have tried 2 "summer" mixes. Both have had a pretty hefty dose of Cranberry SC and both have gotten very sweet after the first few vapes. I'm going to do a remix on one using my FLA Cranberry and see how that goes. Tomorrow I'm going to try the Grapefruit Gin and Tonic.No cranberry in that one.
