Any of them trees close to the house?

Nope. Had 9 removed last week. The town waits for theirs to fall though. Power went out at 2:30 am, no estimate on restoration. 85% of my town is out along with 80% of the next town over. :(

Yes. We had winds 65 mph plus. Sounded like a hurricane. Batten down the hatches, fill some buckets and charge your batteries! Off to take a look outside to see what happened out there.

    Somewhere between here and there
One more day of work to get to the finish line.

I’m glad most of our utilities are buried. We almost never lose power and have only lost internet or cable when someone dug and hit a line. That is besides when we had spectrum cable. The service was not good.

Wow. Hope that calms down a bit before it gets here. We got enough already. Internet still out
Most of the state is not this bad. My area just got slammed. I lost a few dead branches but that's it. We have all overhead lines so this is unfortunately common.

We used to get 150-200 trick or treaters at our house every year. We live in a subdivision of about 180 homes and there is another development attached to ours that is about the same size. We only got about 25 kids last night. I would guess that it was partly because of the colder weather but figured we'd get at least close to 100. We gave each kid at least two things of candy but still have 3/4 of a bucket left. I should have given them four or five each. You know I'm going to be snacking on that candy even though I know I shouldn't.

Yes,NH is mostly country so also mostly overhead lines. My gd is renting my house which is about 20miles north of here and she said the wind is whipping up there
Well, huge tree and a pole down south of me, trees down and wires dangling north of me. Looks like it's going to be a long haul. Packing up coolers to bring to my mom's house this afternoon. They are talking about out of state crews working through the weekend, that's not a good sign. No estimate on restoration. No power, no heat, no water. No joy. Hope you have better luck!

Home after a long day. Cleaned / wicked a couple of Galaxies for some Butterscotch Candy and Autumn Evening.
The Butterscotch Candy tastes more like toffee to me. Maybe the 10% Butterscotch (FW) was little much, although I thought the 2% Sweet Cream (TFA) and 2% DX Bavarian Cream (TFA) would smooth it out a little. Maybe next trial I should drop the Butterscotch to 6%....
Even after two years of storage, the Cornell & Diehl Autumn Evening is still delightful. Aromatic blends usually fade after 6 to 12 months, but the Maple and Vanilla casing, with an undertone of Liquor, still shows up to blend with the Red Virginia Cavendish. I can't wait to reorder and extract this flavor again.

I've been playing a lot with butterscotch since I started DIY. I think it's the one flavor I have wasted the most ingredients on due to a lot of terrible concoctions and having to dump them. I've tried combing different vendors butterscotch, all at different ratios with absolutely no success.

But I think I finally found the secret to a good butterscotch, and that's caramel. Sweetener also helps round everything out without making it sweet. I know that probably makes no sense, but it works. I find different (vendors) caramels give different notes to the butterscotch. So it's kind of something you want to experiment with.

Here is something I am toying with now. I think it's pretty good and it could serve as a starting point for you. It does require a minimum 3 week steep and gets better with longer aging.

    Butterscotch Ripple FW 5%
    Caramel Candy FW 7%
Caramel CAP or Caramel FA or Caramel Butter WF 2%
    Sweetener TFA 1%
    Vanilla Custard CAP 3%

The 2nd caramel I use in the mix varies but the CAP one adds a nice darker note to the butterscotch. If you can try not to substitute anything for the caramel candy FW. The butterscotch ripple is such a good flavor that I don't think it can be substituted either.

Glad to hear the lake weather was better. The brrrr sucks
I was totally expecting today on the water to be a living hell.. wind blowing a million miles an hour, huge swells. It was such a relief that it wasn't. Maybe if I had been prepping myself psychologically that it wouldn't be so bad, then it would have been much worse. Probably not, but preparing myself mentally how hard it might be maybe was a good thing.
