Best vodka taste I've gotten is using actual vodka. It has its issues, for sure, and you really can't use a lot (and have to be willing to use it) but it's certainly authentic tasting. LOL.

I just happen to have a big bottle of Absolute. Haven't touched it in years.

It's actually a pretty simple mix I've tried various iterations as it were...

FA Brandy 3%, FA Peach 1%, Purilum Mango 1% (mango makes everything better!) FW Apricot 4%.

I've added either Toasted Marshmallow or Silverline whipped marshmallow. (0.5--1%)

I drop sweetener (Supersweet) per 30 ml. You can forgo the sweetener unless you like sweet mixes like me. LOL.

So, another question... I was under the impression that DX flavors are simply made without “undesirables” but taste the same for the most part. I’ve recently noticed mixers stating DX taste better sometimes (TFA pomegranate) and vice versa. For someone not concerned with the DX aspect but only the actual flavor, are they different enough you might actually need both the original and the DX versions?

I can't answer the question, but it would stand to reason they would taste different. The reason undesirables are there is the flavor. Some people will like the undesirable chemicals better, some will like the others better.

Finally got the old TV moved and the other cart set up; between the 2 carts I now have enough room to use the scale without having to move anything out of the way. Will make mixing so much user friendly and I can finally catch up. Just got the stash back down to 193 but the new flavors will take it back up to 203.

Trying my Berry Sorbet. Since the vodka has no flavor I don't think I'd mix an alternate booze in this. It's quite tasty and less sweet than I thought it would be. Too sweet for me of course. Don't know what I was thinking.........

You should try Russain Standard Platinum it is so good so smooth besides Ouzo and 99 Bananas it is one of the liquors I keep in stock.
