So I've been asking about "creamy" flavors (custard, bavarian cream, marshmallow, meringue...) I just got my answers in a video (Wayne... DIYorDie) Not a full review but gave me a general idea. He talks about CAP, TFA and FA mostly. It also helped me understand why some custards are too much for me.
Have you tried FA fresh cream

I misunderstood (no wonder I didn't get why you said "base"... I get it now) I would try cookie (less sweet shortbread) Graham cracker might actually be too bland. Maybe a tiny bit of cream too.
LOL ,in this case bland could be a good thing. Actually at 1% bland is not an issue.

That’s why I was picking her brain :). I usually really like her recipes, so it would be helpful to learn some of her tricks.
What keeps this fun is that I’m constantly learning. I’ve made tea recipes that I’ve liked before but nothing I would consider a big winner. Never occurred to me to give a tea recipes a base. This should be interesting.

Mornin’. No work today for MLK day. My aged bourbon cream is due tomorrow and I’m extremely excited to try it. I need to look up some recipes using it. Today I clean house. My son and I did some things for my parents yesterday and I didn’t get much else done but I did input my taxes. Gonna look em over a few times before sending them. I have to make juice today. In my normal way I’m down to my last few mls. :) Why does it seem a long 4 day break from work goes by so quickly? I just have too much on my plate I guess.

You're lucky to have the day off. I'm at work just like any other Monday.

I purchased milkshake base by VTA a few months ago. Unfortunately in all the drama surrounding the move I have not had a chance to play with it yet.

I bought that too a long time ago but also never tried it.

The one I am working with might be doable, but it needs a slight adjustment for my personal taste.
Isn't that how DIY works ?

For my first tea I kept it familiar with a Rhuberry Black Tea, I went with Graham Clear for a base. I got that one mixed. For my second mix I'm going to use a different "base" and at least one odd fruit. I need to get that wrote up before I can mix. Thank goodness these won't be long steepers as I'm very curious how they will be.

Think of it as the foundation your recipe stands on. A base. Sometimes you use a base for taste also and sometimes you just want It there but not tasted.
So, to give depth/ body to the main flavors? If you were creating a fruit mix, would you start with a base then too?

I would but my tastes require a base to taste the best. We are all different. Also, yes it gives depth and body to a mix . This is just my personal opinion.

Good afternoon Random folks. No mixing, no testing today, tomorrow, Wed, or Thurs. Yippee!!
Lucky you, Bronze.:) You need a break. I, on the other hand, haven't done a whole lot lately so I'm happy I got the 2 teas mixed today. I do have some mixes to try that I've been putting off cause I've been stuck on my NET mixes.
