that sucks, I had an ac unit that pretty much crapped out yearly...bought a warranty from an ac repair place, it was costly but compared to the yearly fees to have someone come fix it, it ended up cheaper...

Hi Shadav, and welcome back! Each call for our home warranty costs $75 on top of what we pay yearly (I think it was $500) and for that $75 they'll have to fix whatever is wrong with the AC. I hope they have to replace it!

so the game is just here in this thread? and if i'm understanding correctly....mix something you've never made before and with flavors that you've never used before (or does that part not matter so much....lmfao I keep ordering stuff but don't use them so that's not difficult to find stuff I haven't used lol)
but as far as steeping goes.....ehhhh yeah no....i'm too impatient for that :p
and then it's getting posted to a blog.....
Only the best ones go in the blog.

Oh I prefer to avoid the REAL diagnostic labels in my private life. I discovered too many people's feelings got hurt. So I stick to the vernacular.

Also, like my family when I went to SW school around that time they all got together to let me know sometimes my tone was "loud and unpleasant" when I was arguing with them at times and they "did not like it."

I think they just felt safe even SAYING that because I was still befuddled and on Depakote. So, being befuddled and on Depakote, I said, "Okay, I will try to work on that then." Only they must have forgotten their request or like comments and my reply because when I wanted to yell at them I lowered my tone. They accused me of using my "Therapist voice," and they "didn't like that" (EITHER I SHOULD ADD.)

Since that time, I have learned to say, "Well you have not been in therapy with me now have you, so I am afraid that, although it might greatly benefit you, it cannot happen, since we are related. HOWEVER, if you find at the completion of this conversation your life has shown improvement you are MORE than welcome to hand me 200 dollars."

Shut them RIGHT up I tell you. SW school is good for SOME things I guess. LOL.

So our AC has not acted right since we turned it on a while back, and changing the thermostat did not fix it. Today the wife called the home warranty people we deal with and they directed her to a AC repair place. She told the guy how it seems to work for a while but then sets a higher temp than we want and quits. He said it's freezing up with ice, then trying to turn on the heat and melt the ice. They're showing up tomorrow between 2 and 6pm and we're under orders not to use it until then. Luckily it's not 100 anymore! :glare:
I’m glad she made that call.

I miss my cat (he was over 15 years old... lost him last year) His name was Jack (no worries.... just good memories) I actually love when you talk about cats...
Sorry to hear about your cat. I like that name, Jack....Jack the Cat has a nice ring to it!

Thanks for the compliment. I enjoy sharing stories of Zelda – and not just for her cat like ways, but to also inform others of her plans on world domination. As much of a spoiled princess she is, she is still an evil genius.

She has taken a temporary hiatus from her Dooms Day Machine. Given the current lock down it has been difficult for her to obtain weapons of mass destruction within black markets. She has recently taken advantage of the current pandemic and developed a bio lab to create mutated monsters. Just the other day she caught a moth and is now in the process of bio engineering a 300 foot mutated mecha moth that she plans to unleash on Japan (she’s been watching too many Godzilla movies).

Don’t let the below picture fool you. As cute as it may seem, that is a highly explosive foam ball of fear. Fortunately for us humanz she developed a pin like safety device so that it could be transported without the risk of blowing up. Unfortunately for her, the lack of opposable thumbs means she cannot pull the pin to activate the warhead. Even evil genius have their off days.

    Thanks Fran

That foam ball is one of her favorite toys. There is about a dozen of them scattered around the house. She loves playing fetch - and yes, she returns the ball for me to throw it again. When she wants to play, she will bring me a ball and drop it at my feet and either meow or tap me on the leg to say, “hey....time to play!”. One day I was busy on the computer, I could hear her chirping and meowing but didn’t pay attention. Guess she grew frustrated at me trying to ignore her for she started to yell at me. Looked down and there was about half dozen balls at my feet. No choice but to play

I’ve heard stories of ac units freezing up from lack of airflow from things like dirty filters or outside unit coils clogged up.

We have a lot of cottonwood trees in our area and they can really clog up an outside unit. Usually one good cleaning of the outside unit after they let the white stuff fly will be good for the season. I change my filter in the basement every month like clockwork. I talked to an hvac guy about buying the better and more expensive filters and he said even though they say they are good for three months that you still need to change them every month so you're better off just getting the medium grade ones and change them monthly. We tried some of the allergen filters before and I never really noticed a difference except they were way more expensive.

We don’t have Cottonwood trees here nor central ac. Window units are much more common here.

We only had window units growing up. When I was in the army in El Paso, my apartment had a swamp cooler. At least that's what we called it. The apartment we lived in and both houses we've owned have had central AC. It's very common here.

Not so much here by far. We don’t really have that much hot weather here and summers are too short.

You’ve sparked my interest, what is a swamp cooler? Keep in mind, swamp here in Canada is the swamp mix inside the catcher traps from beer taps.

We usually have pretty hot and humid summers. Sometimes we skip spring and go right into summer. This year is weird so far. It's been cooler all week and only 57 today.
Pretty funny. 57 for us too. It’s just not warming up as it should.Windy and 43 tomorrow.

I think it’s a different kind of ac unit.
