Phones have come a long way since the first one I had for work, around 1990. It weighed about 40 pounds with the batteries, phone and charger in a backpack.
I remember the first cell phone. By Motorola, mid 80's I think, we called it the Brick.

I love and hate smartphones. The more you have them, the more you use them. It is an unstoppable illness.

As someone who depends on my smartphone to get me from place to place, well I don't miss the one time in oh, say 16 where mapquest printouts just deposited you some completely RANDOM, wrong and isolated place and you had to backtrack 20 miles to get told by the postmistress "this happens all the time," and you think, "Why doesn't someone FIX it?"

I was a late cellphone adapter and I STILL don't back up everything to the cloud. My last cellphone my husband was like, "I was SURE you backed up to the cloud." I was like, eyes slatted, "Never assume that. NEVER."

LOL it was educational I guess. I go get my new smartphones now and I try to stay a generation behind the latest and greatest because it is half as much. I know they do a lot but the price is INSANE.

I was like, when my husband sort of guilted me into it because of "The kid," saying "Well I LIKE the times when no one can reach me frankly and to be honest, you could deal with a "kid" emergency and I could just go on about my business I'm sure I'd find out eventually and it's not a SIN to not have a cellphone.

Yes, I have a smartphone now. The cheap last generation one that is supposed to be shockproof bombproof waterproof, etc. I am on my second one when I wiped it down with like, hand sanitizer I guess I was too vigorous because the microphone died.

This one the little dongle thingy that you use to plug and unplug your speaker jack does not work, it is perpetually lose.

Can't say I recommended it ad I don't believe all the pics of people like, taking pics under water that is a LIE.

I had a better day today, I might say my best one yet.; Actually. Because I am SEVERLY sleep deprived and I guess that makes me move at the speed of a normal human. GOD though. Eyes hurt. Early to bed this fine eve.

I went on the way home tonight and bought a new phone. I got the iPhone se 2020 or whatever they call it. I just know it was the cheapest one.

I'm in the market for a new iPhone. Mine is getting old but still working fine, so I've been procrastinating. Glad to hear you like it.

I didn't know so many of you are into video games.

Last time I played one they took tokens or a quarter. And you had to go to the arcade place to play.

And it isn't like I'm some ancient one either. I'm only 60. BTW, by ancient I do mean the 100 and up Club. As I get older I move that number by 40 years out in front of me.

I enjoy playing Chess and it IS very difficult finding a real "live" person who actually sits across from you to play against with real Chess pieces. I do play on my iPhone or computer but that isn't the same! :D

I got an Xbox 360 once but never got into it. I always just played on the PC. Hadn't played a game for 5 years since I got bored with Skyrim, but I got No Man's Sky a couple of months ago and I'm off again. Fills in a bunch of that lockdown time. The best part of Elder Scrolls was being able to mod the game which you can't do on a console. I miss that.

A few years ago I picked up a PC version of my old favorite pub arcade game Missile Command. I had to get a trackball mouse for it. Had to stop playing it though. I started getting pain in my finger joints from the trackball. My fingers aren't as nimble as they used to be I guess.

If mine had been working correctly, I could have traded it in and got a new phone for $8 a month instead of $16. Oh well, I did get a $50 gift card.

Right. Mine is working and it's a trade-in. Just need to do it...

    That bites :( No tracking?

My Sourcemore order shipped two days ago so tracking just picked it up. No word on my contest win. Innokin really made it difficult to claim your prizes. Hardly worth the hassle. The contest ended on September 2...

I go from KS to WV and back quite often. No problems when driving through any of them. The middle of the state of Florida, say 60miles n of Tampa, on Gulf side is nice and prices are fair. Lots of decent motels with weekly rates.

I agree 100% on the TFA Root Beer Float alone and/or with VBIC. I also like OSDIY Old Tyme Root Beer + VBIC.
I don't like root beer, but its Great for People to Post 'Stand Alone' Brand & Flavors That Taste Good By Themselves.
@ny (As for driving around the south alone, it Depends On What You Look Like and I wouldn't Recommend Travelling Alone Anymore w/o Vehicle Cams & I have a dog who would lay its life down for me but I wouldn't Risk my buddy, that's my Experience, Reality)

I loved Missile Command in the arcade, that and Defender.
