Random DIY mixing and More

Hey all,

Man it got cold here almost overnight! I went to my dr. appt yesterday in shorts and a t-shirt and that was a mistake - it was in the 50's with a freezing wind! So today it's thermal undershirt and sweatpants. I know that is not cold to some here but after being 90 it's like the middle of winter!

50’s aren’t warm to me either.

I’m really thinking I’m blueberry blind. If I don’t mix it with bilberry I can’t taste it. I think it’s way more likely that I’m only tasting the Bilberry. In any case I’m not going to mix with it anymore which is fine cause there’s a whole bunch of fruits I can taste just fine.

I gave up on blueberry. Couldn't find one I liked. And for me they just don't taste like real BB. My wife liked a pretty strong BB DIY juice but for me it just tasted blah, way too strong. And yes, thank heavens there are many other fruits we all love.

I agree. Also giving up on blueberry. Bilberry can be my fill in......lol.

Hey all,

When I took dog for a walk early this morning it was 28 degrees. I would gladly take your windy 50's in a heartbeat knowing snow, ice and much colder weather is just around the corner. The 50's, even mid 40's, are comfy in comparison.

I either reuse them for similar flavors
or let them soak in vodka overnight
I'm iffy with using soap as it can leave a residue
plus the alcohol disinfects not a big issue with bottles but still, I do the same with drip tips, rdas, wicks/coils (tanks and carts when I used them)

Thanks for the input. I figured some folks used vodka for cleaning, but that is not something I really want to do. I imagine it does do a good job cleaning though.

It's not too bad sometimes in the Spring when it first starts to warm up for some folks here. Personally, I've found the older I get the more I feel the cold. However, I've never worn a scarf...LOL. Summers are much shorter here but we get our share of hot weather.

OKAY - "Koolada" Update:

First - Thanks for all the suggestions & thoughts about the change of "Taste" . . .

Now for the results, both good & bad . . .

GOOD - Opened a brand new bottle of "Koolada" and added to mix . . . YEA ! ! ! Can still "Taste" and get TH from "Koolada" . . .


BAD - Checked opened "older" bottle for date, etc. . . .

Well imagine "My" surprise when I finally saw and found out that I haven't been using "Koolada" as I thought . . . Although it was exactly the same type of bottle/size as the previous bottle of "Koolada" - it was actually a 120 ml bottle of Unflavored 50/50 24 mg Nic - no wonder I wasn't getting the same TH I was used too. . .

Which leads to the next problem, I know for a fact I never ordered this size of Unflavored nic. (2 Bottles) . . . What I did order was 120 ml bottles of "Koolada" months ago, but I don't know or remember from which vendor (Can't find original order/email) . . .

AND - Even though, I think it might be ecigexpress - I'm not sure - although I do have a 120ml Bottle of "Koolada" from them that looks the same . . . If I could remember, I might consider contacting them to mention the mix-up and see if they would replace them . . .

Here's a picture & the info from the bottle: It's a Basic Label with the usual "Stuff", PG/VG Lot Numbers & Batch number, Made in The USA - including manufacturer EXC LLC, Bellington WA.

Anyone, know who might be the vendor is or which vendor uses this label . . . Or want to take a guess to help me out . . .

I did some searching and it came up as Flavor Jungle. So perhaps that nic is from when they were EcigExpress and sold nicotine.

Off topic: I did get the job I wanted. I applied at a facility that I worked at back in 99-2006. I'm hoping this one will be it. I hate to job hop but last job insurance was crazy as well as the job with no management on board. I feel confident on ordering some diy now.

I struggled with blueberry too. Someone on this thread mentioned blueberry jam being good. I was thinking it was Nola but I’m not sure.

I liked it in a recipe I got off the FB group, but can’t recall it off the top of my head.

@FranC , I tried the MF raspberry. Did anyone report on it yet? I’ve missed a ton of pages the last couple of weeks

Im got a blueberry yogurt in rotation right now that’s got potential... MegaMan Yogurt (ELR, Vapor Alchemist). I’m trying to work through the MF sfts I forgot about. I’m “podding” my way through them ( a pod forces me to devote a full tank, no dump). I did morello cherry (pleasant surprise) and raspberry. Working through the orange now.
I need to run to the grocery before it gets storm crazy. Zeta looks like it’s trending a little east, but I hope it doesn’t for the Panhandle’s sake. They really really don’t need all that wind and wet while they’re trying to recover from the last hurricane. Not that I want it to come here, but no one deserves to get nailed twice.

The Nic above is from ecigexpress. I bought nic from them and it was transferred to glass but I remember well.

On the fence....Pretty sure you wouldn’t. It reminds me of the old fashioned raspberry hard candy that used to come in the tin cans of mixed candies... the ones shaped like a raspberry, covered in a dusting of sour powder, filled with a little jam/goo.
The MF tastes like a mix of the sour and the hard part of the candy. Not particularly super sweet, but definitely candy, and floral. Floral enough that I would try it with another floral and maybe a tea. It’s not so floral that I think it couldn’t be muted layered with another raspberry in a bakery or cream recipe. But definitely a no-go for those that absolutely can’t do floral.

MF morello cherry deserves a try in a recipe. It’s a realistic dark, tart cherry to me. I need to do a sft at a higher %. The orange as well. Right now it’s watered down orange juice with a predominant green rind. I def need to up the % on it.
