I think the tree was/is very art deco @DLKnives . Reminds me of our Christmas cactus. The kid had trees, he then was sad about the trees dying so we got a "live" one and that sucker (it wasn't even BIG) was almost impossible to like, get in the house it weighted 3 tons. Me and my husband were barely up to it. Then the poor husband had to dig in the snowy ground.

It died anyway.

When we got to Tucson the kid became obsessed with cacti and Saguaro in particular. So we got (you cannot really buy mini Saguaro they grow like an inch a year and cost an arm and a leg) a vaguely Saguaro shaped miniature cactus and at Christmas we would wrap it in tinsel. It lasted like 8 years. It was AWESOME.

I know where our decorations are, we are the proud owners of BOTH family "historical" ornaments. I would like to torch them but maybe one day we will have a tree again. Snort. Unlikely.

I've been taste testing a couple mixes and SFT's.

SSA Raspberry Syrup is really good. It's what I would call a raspberry just prior to being fully ripe (fully ripe being on the sweeter end). Raspberry Syrup has a very good balance between tart and a sweetness on the mild side. There is no cloying sweetness or yucky cough syrup aftertaste. BTW I did 3 drops/10 ml base.

Don't know why they chose to add 'syrup' to the name cause IMO that implies a raspberry on the sweet end of the spectrum. SSA Raspberry Syrup is not that.

I was hoping to hear you liked the Raspberry Syrup flavor. That is one I was planning to get in my next flavor order. Any other good flavor reports from your SFT's?

I did not do MF Peach as an SFT. Went straight into a very basic mix with a couple flavors I know very well.

MF Peach 1%
FLV Vanilla Pudding 1%
FLV Cream 0.75%

Steeped 7 weeks. IMO MF flavors do come to life after 6-7 weeks.

MF Peach is a yellow peach. There is some tartness and a mild sweetness. It's very flavorful. Nothing fake about it. Not candy tasting. I taste a full flavored yellow peach that is not on the super ripe side.

I will be buying the sweeter MF White Peach in my next order.

I have MF Guava that I did as an SFT. And I only did that one as an SFT because of how strong it smelled compared to any of the other MF's I have. When I had the cap off my kitchen smelled like guava. That's strong and was a pleasant surprise. Pretty sure I did 1 drop / 10ml base with that one.

I don't do many SFT's anymore. Much prefer jumping in and creating a basic mix with other flavors I know well. That usually tells me all I need to know about a new flavor.

I did test SSA Pear and it is really good. To me it is very much like a fresh pear. I did that one in a mix with FA Madagascar (vanilla classic) and FLV Cream. And as far as pears go it is right in there with FA Pear, IMO.

FA Pear is also an excellent fresh pear, with sweetness and it offers a little creaminess with steeping. Many times I use it in very low %'s, or just a few drops, as a mild sweetener in a mix. I don't have or use the popular sweeteners in any of my recipes. IMO other flavors will bring in any desired sweetness.

ETA: The MF Guava is still steeping.

Sunday salutations. Yeah, I did serendipitous yesterday

We have a couple of the ones that's a digital clock and shows the inside and outside temps. I think they're neat.

Ours also has a wireless rain gauge and a wireless wind speed. And a funky, barely useful phone app, that could probably have been improved if written by a grade school student.

Yep - Got a few of them (SS & Black) for the Carto tanks I have and for the BB's too . . .

I was never a big fan of cartos, but never put the painted ones in a carto tank. All that I used in tanks were plain stainless.

Today I am calmer. The husband is having a meltdown. Sigh. I want to hear back about that house so we can get over with but the dude has a few days and whatnot. I hope it works out. Not seeing much on the market, honestly. It's frustrating,.

I am getting to the point where I should probably mix flavors again, but it's doubtful. Not much gonna be happening on the Anna front other than yoga (hopefully sooner this time) and like, obtaining diet pepsi from a dollar store. We need food but not entirely emergently and well, Walmart, can't face it. Sigh.

I should pull out and look at the stuff Health Cabin sent me. It's not gonna happen today though. I am still in recovery mode from that 19 out of 24 hour shift, I kind of know it.

The only decorations allowed by Mrs. Grinch is my 2 foot Charlie Brown tree, which comes complete with Linus blanket and one ornament.

My secretary puts one of those trees in our office entryway. But we all pitch in to decorate our big tree at the office. Not this year!

My house pukes Christmas once I’m finished. Everything I have has meaning. Been working on it all day. I’m almost finished with the house part then I’ll start on the big tree which is the hard part. I may or may not finish it today. We are starting to glow! I’ll decorate until I physically can’t. We both love it so much. I can’t wait until tonight when everything shines!

I noticed one thing real quick on today's shopping trip....there were way more cars in the parking lot than usual. I'm not sure if it's a panic and stock up thing or just holiday season. No shortage of paper products or hand sanitizers. About the only thing that's been in short supply has been cleaning products. Dd likes Fantastic which is very hard to find.
